But I have always believed in the “philosophy” of art being the mirror to the zeitgeist. Showing us naked, warts and all.
But that people can ignore the more troubling aspects with ease. Like American History X can be viewed as a cautionary tale about falling in and out of an extremist hate group, like the KKK. But paradoxically it is rumoured that members of the KKK find the movie empowering and inspiring.
