That was my point - Why? Quality does not equate to the "volume" of content. If a piece has a slow tempo and very little "happens".... has it failed to cram and so is inferior? I don't get it.
Some stories just don't fit into the movie format.
Others do. Ya never know what will work or fail
until the job is done.

Digression....
David Lynch's "Dune" is the best example (IMO) of fitting a
huge story & cast into a couple hour movie successfully.
Even Lynch's resorting to narration in parts to squeeze it
all in worked.
