How the 1917 (sic) flue put an end to WWII

You're trying to hard to believe the worst in Trump,
& the best in Obama. It's the same behavior I see
in my loopy right wing friends. You & they use the
same methods....just against different enemies.

You're strawmanning me!

We have more than ample evidence that trump is an ignorant, lying narcissist. He's been demonstrating this for years. These days he's just adding more data points that confirm the behavior patterns he established for himself years ago.

This is not evidence against his gaffe being a gaffe.
It seems that you're trying to change the argument to something else.

Note also that I'm not disputing his being "dangerously dumb" or dishonest.

We should always remember that some people will always defend and/or justify Trump's words and actions, including using the use of false equivalencies, no matter what he says or does.

When Trump said "I Could Stand In the Middle Of Fifth Avenue And Shoot Somebody And I Wouldn't Lose Any Voters", it turned out to be one of the very few things he was dead on the nose right about.

Except that Obama didn't have a daily habit of doing and saying colossally dumb things like trump does, so no, not really.
This misses the point about the possibility that Trump also
has gaffes, & that to refuse considering this is prejudicial.

Again you greatly misunderstand.
When I see erroneous reasoning, I'll correct it.
The problem with anti-Trumpers is that you're so furious over
his beating Hillary that you're obsessed with seeing the worst.
You rage at any correction or consideration of alternative views, &
lash out with epithets like "apologist lapdog".

As for my having voted for him, this appears to also really anger you.
But remember.....you guys made Hillary the alternative.
You guys made a corrupt & incompetent war monger your candidate.
Shame on you for presenting me with that choice of 2 evils, & then
whinging about my vote for the lesser evil.

You talking to me?

If you think you are, you're wrong.

And man oh man, is this post of yours ever a collection of bad arguments.

It's a comforting thing for fervent anti-Trumpers to say & believe.
But to say "dead on the nose right" entirely lacks reason & evidence.
It's hyperbole....not reality.

Did you not see that I quoted a particular poster?
Before you carp about "bad arguments", you should
read carefully, & know who is posting to whom.

Criminy, did I ever step in it this time.
What a hostile echo chamber....unwilling to face
the perspective that Trump could've misspoken.

You misunderstand that my criticism of the OP's prejudice
is defense of what Trump said. I recommend reading more
carefully.

There is absolutely nothing comforting about the fact that many if not most Trump supporters revere him as if he's infallible and beyond reproach. In fact it's pitiful and disturbing.

I don't disagree, but that's different from what you just said.

Trump is worthy of criticism. But it appears that those who
hate him will say & believe the worst simply because it confirms
their feelings. Even if the criticism is inaccurate or unreasonable,
as long as it's negative, it's cromulent....doesn't matter if it's wrong.
And don't you dare point out errors or other possibilities...you'll be
labelled his "apologist".

Btw, bias confirmation can indeed be "comforting", even if it's
about danger because one's weltanschauung is reinforced, ie,
one gets to win the argument, & be right. Righteous indignation
is one of life's greatest joys, eh.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Apparently he approached the SD governor about having his face added to Mt. Rushmore as a serious request. It's baffling and horrifying that a significant portion of our society actually exalt this imbecile and take him seriously.
If thats true, it would make a great thesis on self aggrandizing behaviors prevalent throughout history.

Were it possible, I'd advocate restoring that
mountain to its former glory (sans presidents).

It should be "1917 flue [sic]", with brackets instead of
parentheses, & after the erroneous word instead of before.
I think the OP was highlighting 1917 as the error, so their placement was correct but the bracketing was wrong. They just misspelled "flue" themselves, that wasn't part of the quote.

So, you should have written "1917 [sic] (sic) [sic] flue [sic]" :D

I was aware that the Spanish Flu was alternatively known as
the "1918 Flu". "1917" is a close misnomer rather than a
misspelling, so I thought adding "[sic]" behind it wouldn't
have been useful. But "flue" greatly offended me peepers.
Still, placing "[sic]" after "flue" could address both "1917" &
"flue".

Btw, I appreciate your addressing the
most important aspect of the OP.
It's like we share one brain.

Again, you have missed the point. It’s about repitition. 5000 climate scientists says anthrogenic climate change is happening, when 3 scientists paid by Exxon-Mobile say it is not.....and you (along with Fox News) say, “See? Both sides have a point! Geez! All you accusative losers just can’t seem to handle fair and balanced presentations!”. “When will you ever learn to be open-minded and wise, like us?!”

Obama or Biden makes an occasional gaffe, you (and a few others) repeat it throughout the forum in every address of the latest dozen or so daily Trumpian logic failures, lies, gaffes, memory failures, etc....etc....etc.... As if repeating those rare (and usually harmless) items from the past makes Trump-world OK.

You also make up fantasies to gloss over reality. We in the center and on the left have dropped the Hillary thing years ago. Our animosity toward Donny-boy has naught to do with her. Just let it go kid! Saying that lie over and over again is also beyond worn thin.

Take an objective look at the proportions and frequency when it comes to the dumb and/or dishonest things that Trump has done or said, intentional or not.
