    Wrong. Animals can be smart, can show empathy, and create decision making just like humans.

    Orang utans are marvellous. Along with gibbons they are they best animals.

    Unfortunately they will probably be pretty much extinct in a decade (especially the Sumatran orang utans) because of logging, palm oil and people catching them for pets.

    If you go there the number of hours you have to drive through palm oil plantations before you get to the jungle is very depressing. It isn't getting any better either.

    People are ****s.

    The next time I need a lock picked I'll look for an orangutan to do it!

    The issue of self-awareness is interesting to me. Wikipedia has a write-up Self-awareness - Wikipedia which includes a discussion about how to test for self-awareness and the stages of its development.
