Christians-those who only believe in jesus and his father etc regardless the denomination or lack there of. Eclectic christians I apreciate your contribution. I am looking for those who soley identify as christian.

    1. My understanding is that jesus was here with his father in the OT.

    2. He came to earth as his father's message thus became "the word" on earth

    3. He went through the passion and came back in spirit to reassure his disciples he will come back.

    4. Christians are still waiting for jesus return.

Has jesus came back already a third time according to scriptures?

If he only came twice, are there scriptures that says he hasnt came back yet until judgement say?

If you are JW, LDS, or Catholic (lurtigical churches) what does your body and/or Church say about this issue?

    Thanks guys

Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you.

Revelation 16:15 “Behold, I come like a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his clothes, so that he doesn’t walk naked, and they see his shame.”

Luke 12:46 then the Lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him, and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.

Thus the Son of Man/Lamb comes before the Great Day secretly, and shall be fighting people with the words of his mouth or giving free eye salve to those who listen. :innocent:

Revelation 2:16 Repent therefore, or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth.

Revelation 3:18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.

These say he Will come. Is there scripture that says he already came after he came as spirit to his disciples somewhere after the gospels?

I understand that Jesus coming means to each person. I am not aware that he will come to the whole world. I am sure he won't come in the flesh of a man.

Revelation 3:20 I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Matthew 28:20 surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 24:33 So also, when you see all these things, you know that He is near, right at the door.
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.

That it is written, "every eye will see HIM" is misleading imo. I think that what was written is that every eye will see IT. I think "it" means that everyone will know more or less the hope of God for a Kingdom.

Matthew 28:16-17 But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had sent them. (17) When they saw him, they bowed down to him, but some doubted.

Mark 16:14 Afterward he was revealed to the eleven themselves as they sat at the table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they didn’t believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

Luke 24:33-37 They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them, (34) saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” (35) They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread. (36) As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.” (37) But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

    The liturgical proclamation in the Catholic Church is;
    Christ has died
    Christ has risen
    Christ will come again.
The Church awaits His second coming.

If the Church was asleep when he knocked, there won't be a second coming for it.
But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. Later the others also came. "Lord, Lord," they said, "open the door for us!" But he replied, "Truly I tell you, I don't know you."

Can you see that we are to open the door to him and not the other way around?

There are three dimensions to our faith: the past, the present, and the future; what God has done, what God is doing, and what God will do.

The past, in Christ God has reconciled, justified, and redeemed us from sin. He has made us his chosen people. He has transferred us from the realm of darkness to the realm of light. Once we were under the power of sin and death; now we live in the realm of life and grace.

Present, we live and dwell in the Risen Christ. Christ is present to the Church today as a living being who dwells in our midst, especially in our worshiping assembly.

The future, there will be a final act to God's work of salvation. God has not yet completed his work. The powers of sin and death have not yet been swept away. But because Christ will come again, we can be confident that they will be—and when they are, God will be all and all.

The physical jesus came once, then he left. He came as spirit, then left again. Then scripture says he will return. When he is present he is present in spirit and the body of christ makes up christ not the person (physical) but the Church.

Did Christ come down more than two times?

If he did, who did he come as or is there scripture saying he actually did come and no one knew about it?

The evangelist John does not lose faith in the second coming but emphasizes that many of the features associated with it are already realities of Christian life (judgment, divine sonship, eternal life). And in a very real way Jesus has come back during the lifetime of his companions, for he has come in and through the Paraclete. The Johannine Christians need not live with their eyes constantly straining toward the heavens from which the Son of Man is to come; for, as the Paraclete, Jesus is present within all believers: their Advocate, their Consoler, their Guide to all truth.

This I believe. How is a person to come if he is here?

    The growing problem of a delayed parousia is evident in 2Peter, believed to be the last of the NT writings;
But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day. The Lord does not delay his promise, as some regard "delay," but he is patient with you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a mighty roar and the elements will be dissolved by fire, and the earth and everything done on it will be found out. (2 Pet 3:3-10)

In both Hebrew and Christian Scripture there is reference to 'The day of the Lord.'
Near is the great day of the Lord,
    near and very swiftly coming;
Hark, the day of the Lord!
    bitter, then, the warrior's cry.
A day of wrath is that day,
a day of anguish and distress,
A day of destruction and desolation,
a day of darkness and gloom,
A day of thick black clouds,
a day of trumpet blasts and battle alarm. . . . (Zep 1:14-16)
    It would be Israel's vindication.

Jesus the Jew, was one of the people of Israel. Accordingly, his faith and his hope were nourished by the faith and hope of his people. Nurtured by Israel's scriptures, he knew that there would be a day of reckoning, a day of the Lord when God would manifest himself in power and majesty. There is much the same imagery of the 'day of the Lord' in Rev.

Spiritually Gods Spirit is with the believer and if you have the Spirit you also have the Father and the Son.

Whilst we know Christ is at the right hand of God, the Spirit is the power within a persons life to make the necessary change and guide the believer
in the ways and teachings of God. All the Prophets prophesied by the power and presence of Gods Spirit.
It is the power and presence of Gods Spirit in believers which make them all one in Christ.

When Jesus come back it will be a physical and spiritual return in that he will be seen by all human eyes.]
It matters not where in the world you are you will see him.

For Baha'is the "return" of Jesus has happened three times... First with Prophet Muhammad.. then with the Bab and after the Bab with Baha'u'llah (The Glory of God").

    The prophecies are listed here

Bahá'í Reference Library - Bahá’u’lláh and the New Era, Pages 214-216

In the lower right of the text has "Next" and will offer further prophecies.

I don't think you've got the hang of this.

God the Father and the Word live in heaven, in unapproachable light. The only time God ever came to earth, figuratively, was by his human son, Jesus, who was not "in the form of God" i.e. not as the Father being imbued with all the power of God, albeit he was "one with God" and "from God."

When Jesus died he did not re-ascend immediately to the throne of God, albeit he did go to paradise. When he was raised from the dead, he was raised in the flesh, albeit he had supernatural powers.

Sometime later he re-ascended to the throne of God.

He will come / appear a second time for his people and judgement Hebrews 9:28.
