2 Peter 3:8-9 (New International Version)

"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

This is why He is still taking this long. He wants ALL His children to come to Him, and He is patient. And His time is different than our concept of time. So, for God, 2,000 years for us is only two DAYS for Him!

Hello biblethumper2,
I noticed this was your first post in this forum, I like to welcome you to the forum.

First, after his resurrection Jesus on his first trip to Heaven, it took him only few days to return and to meet with his beloved disciples for his final farewell (this few days was based on the Time scale which existed on this earth, and not the God’s Time scale as you put it), then why it has taken him so long for his second journey?

Second, throughout the past 2000 years many people have claimed that their prayers have been answered by Jesus, if these claims were true, then Jesus must have had full knowledge of his followers’ desperate needs for his return. Because many people have died without accepting Jesus as their saviors, and they can not be blamed since the validity of Jesus divinity is seriously in doubt.

Third, if we accept that Jesus lives under a different Time scale, this means Time is a factor on Jesus existence, and that makes his body to have a different substance from that of God, and just this point nullifies the whole Christian theology.

One more point on the subject of time; Many times I was puzzled by the idea that from Friday 3 pm to Sunday morning this makes it only TWO DAYS ( about 40 hours ), then why Christians keep saying Jesus was buried for THREE DAYS? All hotels for such a period of time they only charge their guests for two days of accommodation. Then, I watched Zeitgeist movie, the movie explained the three days death of deities as the death of Sun during Dec 22, 23, 24 and rebirth of Sun on Dec 25th. Anyway one might wonder how the world functioned while Jesus was dead. Logically it is not plausible that God to die for any length of time. This assertion defies the definition of God. If someone claims in pagan religions many Gods died and they got resurrected again. Then, I would answer; we already have concluded that all pagan religions were wrong and obsolete. So their practices and their belief systems can not validate any of such idea.

I am not sure if you have seen Zeitgeist movie? I find the movie very enlightening. It is a 2 hours movie in Google video, however there are some shorter segments of the movie in YouTube, but I heard YouTub is keep removing these short segments of the movie!

In view of observing such clear demonstration of facts in refute of religions one might wonder why religions are still dominating the thoughts of people in our societies today. I have realized this as a very peculiar phenomenon, and I have labeled this peculiar phenomenon as “A Common Supernatural Phenomenon”. This supernatural phenomenon forces all the believers to be satisfied with their belief system despite of all the damning evidences which discredit the core of their belief systems. Otherwise how could these very educated believers who have comprehended many mind bugling functions of this Universe still fail to see the serious logical deficiencies in their religions’ belief systems.

May God Bless us all,
Unes
