How did the Big Bang happen?

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
If we look at the Big Bang theory. ( not the Tv series)
Most of the science community say everything started with the bang.

But what made it go Bang? If there is no creator or God or intelligent being that put it in motion.
If there was nothing before the big bang. What made it go bang?
What was in the space we today know as the universe?

Can there be a nothing or a void if there was nothing there before?

Best theory today is the spontaneous decay of a Higgs like inflaton field from one quantum state to another. Spontaneous transitions are common in Quantum systems.

Who/what made it possible to decay? How can something decay if it was not there in the beginning?

No, they dont.
But what made it go Bang?
No one knows.
If there is no creator or God or intelligent being that put it in motion.
If there were no universe creating transcendent moss what put the universe, God or an intelligent being into motion.
Dunno.
If there was nothing before the big bang. What made it go bang?
Dunno.
What was in the space we today know as the universe?
Everything we know today as the universe.

Incoherent question. The answer is brightly colored motor tools.

So you do not know, but you keep believing in what science tell to be true? Hmmm that sounded like a personal belief to me. But personal belief needed proof? Right?

The proof is "dunno"
You can not prove science answers any better then religious people can prove God exist.
It is a personal understanding, isn't it?

Oh puhleeze. You kept that accusation as vague as you possibly could in order to sneak thru a completely hollow complaint.

I know this dance.
J: What is it that I keep believing?
A: what science tells you to be true.
J: What is that?
A: That thing. You know what it is. The stuff.
J: What stuff.
A: Dunno is the proof. You believe. Nyah nyah.

Cool. 10 posts condensed down to one.

So now I become silly, because you could not answer the OP  baffling

Not bad. Make a slightest of jabs implying that I am frustrating your entirely reasonable and earnest attempts to just understand/bridge gaps/mend fences. About as subtle as you might get for such a direct thrust.

Universe is eternal in this model. The state of the universe changed at Big Bang.
In physics things occur all the time without cause. Like radioactive decay or quantum tunneling that powers the semiconductors in your cell phones.

I would not use tensed verbs when talking of the universe. Things like "made" already beg the question that there is such a thing as a flow of time. And that things in our relative past do not exist anymore, while things in our future are yet to exist. Everything exists, all all times, so to speak.

Probably best to see the Universe as a 4 dimensional block that exists eternally. The Bib Bang would then be one of the many interesting points on that unchanging surface.

And if this is a viable model, as relativity seems to indicate, then there is no need of a first cause that caused all the rest. The Universe would exist eternally.

Nobody knows what made it go bang since there are no evidence of creator or God or intelligent being that put it in motion.

Nothing

What was in the space we today know as the universe?
Things that are in what we know today as the universe.

Can there be a nothing or a void if there was nothing there before?
The question is incoherent. Can you clarify what you are trying to ask?

If the universe we know today was "created" from the big bang. What was within the space this universe take up now? There can not be a nothing, can it?

Why must there be a who? Just because we don't understand the mechanism for something yet is not evidence that magic was involved. Many things now explainable were once attributed to gods.

"God" does not explain anything. Saying Goddidit gets us no closer to understanding the mechanism of creation than we are now.

There was no space. Space is a quality of the universe and didn't exist before it.
Of course, there was no time either, so there was no before before the universe, either.

Confusing, ain't it? That's physics for you. Your mind is not configured to grok reality. It's configured to assist survival. Physics long ago abandoned commonsense or 'the obvious.'

There are many hypothesis as to the cause of the bb. And more and more cosmologists are now learning to it not being a bang at all but more a rapid inflation, all be at a very noisy one or a big bounce. (One problem there, assuming it occured in absolute vacuum then there was no medium in which sound could propagate)

It is thought that the expanding universe creates it own space

Regarding a universe from nothing, one possiblity
Spontaneous creation of the universe from nothing

This is a bit out of date but a very informative video on the direction of cosmological research, an hour long if you have time (or will) to watch it

Yet? Science will never be able to explain the origin of existence. Im cool with that fact.

It is not confusing at all :) we just look at "reality" from two different P.O.W :) that's all

Science is only hypothesising about the Big Bang's origins.
But your "...If there is no creator or God or intelligent being that put it in motion..." does not help because the next question is...

Where did your creator or god come from?

Before this universe expanded, what was here before? If there is empty space, that means something was here before our current universe.( like a universe before this one)

Maybe universe is reincarnating?
