Kermit also didn't teach us how to live and a human could invent such a character. The words and parables of Jesus, like the high moral standards in the sermon on the mount, sound beyond human comprehension. Sermon on the Mount - Wikipedia

It points to Judaism’s past as polytheistic.

It hints that some of the ancient Jews believed in a plurality within one God, not that they believed in the Trinity. Job agreed with Christian beliefs about the Messiah being a Mediator and a Redeemer and God in the flesh.

Again, it was a common name, plus many people today name their sons "Joshua", so does that mean they are deities?

I posted this before, but apparently you chose to ignore it: Joshua - Wikipedia [see #1]

Because he was not in the story?

Kermit taught all sorts of really important life lessons! How dare you blaspheme like that. Jesus just copied stuff from Moses and got a bunch of it wrong. And who "invented" Kermit. He was born with no mother and preached to MILLIONS, many more than Jesus ever knew. He has been alive for longer and even when his prophet, Jim Henson, died, he was reborn!

The expression "let us make man in our image" does not imply that the Trinity has any junior deities in the plurality.

I mean, given that y’all think Jesus is alive, he didn’t really die, right?

The context of the teachings shows that they were consistent with OT teachings about caring for others. Context matters. its like Zephaniah 3:9. The context is about the Millenium, not sacred names.

Context can determine true or false doctrine.

But Vishnu came to earth to save people more often than Jesus did.

It never occurred to you that the authors of the latter stories referred to previous stories?

People named their kids after Gods all the time. Joseph, son of Jacob, married a woman named after Anat, a Canaanite Goddess also worshiped in Egypt.

So what? Between him and Solomon, everyone within a hundred miles should be related to David.

How can Jews reject Jesus as a messiah? Because it requires belief in an invisible kingdom... ^^

Yes, Kermit's messages WERE consistent with Torah teaching unlike Jesus's! Good point!

Context DOES matter -- just like how the context of Isaiah establishes that the servant is Israel. So true!

The Muppets were a profound influence growing up. Fraggle Rock is better at teaching love and compassion than Jesus, who cussed out people who got on his nerves.

@Skywalker, Can you explain this apparent contradiction?

    But you said earlier:

If most Jews and gentiles whom he preached to rejected him, then people didn't know he was the Messiah because of his teachings and miracles.

I think I should get a prize for getting through over 60 pages lol.

Anyway, I’m glad God helped me divorce a deity from a deity character. No one in the Bible is real. They may be based on real people, but they are characters.
