How are the music videos where you live?

I'm just trying to get a global perspective here,
because in South Africa its just rap, rap, rap
and some kwaito (which is local rap), and then
one channel which just plays camp 80's music
which is so overplayed that it died back in the 70's
and now can only really be classified as zombie-pop.

The day the music died, was the good old-days.
At least dead music is better than undead music.

Oh, we also have some RnB, which manages to sound
good only because its not rap. Then we get what is
optimistically called 'reggae' which just means that
its rap but with dreadlocks.

Where did the blues go?

The music scene is very strong here in Paradise (Western Canada). Virtually any form finds expression though little is commercially viable.
