Honeyeaters are a large and diverse family of birds found mostly in Australia and New Guinea. They feed on nectar, insects, fruit and have brushes on their tongues for gathering nectar. They are an important pollinator.

Here's some that are local to my area. Scarlet Honeyeater. One of Australia's smallest birds and surprisingly hard to spot despite the bright colour.

Noisy Miner. One of the few birds that have benefited from European settlement. Our habit of clearing the land and leaving small patches of trees suits them. They're very aggressive and chase off other birds in their territory.

I dreamt about your birds last night...

I'm sick with a fever/vomiting, and I was waking up about every hour, give or take, but when I'd fall back asleep, there was a file with your name on it, and I'd open it and start the slideshow of birds.
