I think that @Revoltingest should have started this thread, but as a fan of the original Batman I have to post this tasty news item:

The Batman TV series was from 1966 to 1968. So, it started 56 years ago. I think that they should remake it with vintage actors. They are now quite old, and out of shape. So they should have gray, stooped, pot-bellied Batman and Robin. The Biffs and Bopps might not be as easy now, so they may have to write them on cardboard, and it each other with their signs.

When Reverend Jimmy Swaggart was arrested on charges of paying for a prostitute in Lancaster, California, he used Batman as a "red herring." That is a distraction to divert attention from angry followers who wanted to punish Reverend Swaggart. So, his people went forth, with the power of the Lord at their disposal, to wipe out Batman items, and claim that they were evil because they were black and looked like bats (semi-Satanic).

Batman was on the side of the law, and the side of good. He fought evil. Shouldn't the Religious Right go after real evil, rather than good people?

Adam West's acting would be even stiffer now than it was in the original series.

That has been shown to be a bit of a handicap for most. Though it might be an asset for some roles:

I'd already seen this dispute. But iIt would be wrong
for me to be the only poster of such police misconduct.

Once again, we see that many many cops are corrupt
& incompetent. Here's hoping that the sheriff is prosecuted
for this misconduct. Of course, he won't be. Government.

I hope that he is prosecuted. The sheriff is both a law enforcement position and a political position. Hopefully at the very least it is the end of his political career.

I've low confidence in voters even being aware
of his misdeeds, let alone actually caring.

Law enforcement seems to select for power hungry, authoritarian types.
We really should screen better for this.

Does anyone remember the Covid pandemic? The Governor of NY placed Covid patients in nursing homes and cause a lot of elderly to be exposed and die. What happened to him? This was a worse judgment call than the bat mobile.

What about the forced shutdowns of businesses, that turned out to be useless, in terms of improving health statistics. These shut downs caused a lot of suffering and is part of the reason for the sorry current state of the economy that has spread out the suffering even to those who chose wisely. You had bullies, over stepping common sense. What should happen to them? Does the political position of the offenders matter in terms of judgment and outcome?

There's a movie like that: Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt (TV Movie 2003) - IMDb

It was fun to watch. Not only do you get to see an aged Batman and an overweight, middle-aged Robin back in action, but they keep having flashbacks about the show from the '60s which is a way of telling the story of what went on behind the scenes in making the series.

Frank Gorshen is back as the Riddler, and Julie Newmar returns as the Catwoman (looking amazing for somebody who just turned 70).
