yeah, hiranyagarbha is ovoid, but the villagers most probably may not have heard of 'hiranyagarbha' of vedas. village hindus.

Interesting. But they can be both....ie both T Rex egg and family deity.
In fact I would be hard pressed to find a better earthly symbol of the Nataraja dance of life, death and time that the eggs of these wonderous creatures whose lineage was destroyed by one of the greatest interstellar calamities earth had ever witnessed...and yet whose memory was preserved through the long slow process of fossilization over the eons.
