Once again, the government delivers an order from private business, in this case literally.

Yeah, but as of now you have to be 21 to cross state lines (federal law).
Will work in the State but not out of the State.

In state hauling is still an essential skill-set imo.

And well it should. Government shouldn't impeded
economic activity without compelling reason. Perhaps
you favor stringent regulation for its own sake, but I
    prefer that it be useful.

Meanwhile they regulate older more experienced drivers out of a job.

Most of those teens won't last 6 months before they call it quits.

I'm not surprised that this is occurring during the Biden Administration. After all, President Biden used to drive an 18 wheeler. :tongueout:

In all seriousness, good for them! That school is actually doing something helpful for the students.

Apparently safety for others is not a concern here.

    Hypocrites in those terms.

Watch the truck fatalities rise if this thing goes through.

That's true. The pay for commitment and time is horribly abysmal.

Most recruiters lie to prospects on trucking pay. Never believe them.

It used to be a great profession, but no longer thanks to aggressive and punitive regulations put intentionally on the backs of hard-working truckers all in the name of 'safety'.

I would talk any young person from ever getting into the industry in its present state.

    It's just no good.

Are Californian youth not learning useful skills in their schools?

How likely would a US insurance company be to insure a truck that follows no safety standards?

depends on the requlation whether it is a valid regulation or a punitive regulation that does not address safe operating standards.

    Reasonable safety standards. Not excessive.

Anyways, are you aware of insurance rates for 18 year olds?

Its why 21 is the preferred age for heavy trucks for interstate. Intra excepted.

Now it's behind the wheel of an 80,000 pound max. vehicle not including permits to exceed 80,000 lbs.

I'm curious what the additional insurance will be afterwards?

You might not be aware of regulations here in Ameristan.
I know you live far away in some 3rd world country, but
it's clear that you have internet access, & could search.
    Peruse....
    Regulations | FMCSA

On the road, I'm careful to have my load properly secured,
within load limits, lights working, brakes working, tire pressure
set according to load & tire rating, etc, etc. Cops stop drivers
with violations, eg, safety chains not crossed.
