Heavenly Bread

After reading and talking about poetry, I wanted to post a poem myself.
I don't really remember writing this poem, so I'm not sure it's mine or that I copy/pasted it from somewhere on the internet, as I sometimes do that.
I suspect it's mine though, because it feels vaguely familiar and doesn't seem to show any results when I google it... and I found it in a folder with other files I'm pretty sure were made by me.
Whatever the truth is, here it is:

A lovely loaf of godly bread
Applause until my hands are red
For the one handing out that heavenly bread
Everybody take a bite
So we can make it through the night
As night is the time where habits shift
A time where we no longer control our drifts
A time which turns sheep into wolves,
Where we forget about our gifts

I like the line "So we can make it through the night." Take that out and put it as the title.
