We will have an eco-friendly and civil Diwali. The Supreme Court has laid down the rules about 'green fire-works'. And they are costlier. No more noise and pollution. All the fun is gone. In our largest state, Uttar Pradesh (230 million people), even the fire-cracker time has been limited, 8 to 10 pm. Previously people used to light crackers from 7 pm to past mid-night. We will have to concentrate on lamps, candles and lighting.

I shall have an eco friendly Halloween by not celebrating it and turning all the lights off in case any pesky kids think they can mooch some sweets off me

Alternatively I might put poison and razor blades in the sweets and this would help the environment by slightly reducing the population on Earth
