Thanks, but some of us don't have any loved ones left, unless you count the cats.Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow to everyone celebrating it. May it be a time of gratitude and peace with your loved ones.
unless you count the cats.
I wonder why most people just assume that everyone has somebody, that's just not true.
They certainly do count, and were it not for them, I would not have any reason to keep going.... that's the truth. They may not speak, but they absolutely count imo.

I don't think anybody assumes anything when using formulaic greetings or wishes. The moment you start thinking about it, it can become ridiculous pretty fast. Not only becomes "Happy Christmas" "Happy Holidays" but you have to also add a disclaimer for those having to work and those who choose not to celebrate.I wonder why most people just assume that everyone has somebody, that's just not true.
My two definitely count. Never had cats who were so smitten with me. Even though they have each other, they clearly love me.They certainly do count, and were it not for them, I would not have any reason to keep going.... that's the truth.

No offense intended.
But I'll get through it somehow.
For some people, but for many people it's never hard. Life just keeps going on and they are always happy.Holidays can be so hard.
It must be lonely on a day where family is celebrated, but you have no family. Thanks, but some of us don't have any loved ones left, unless you count the cats.

You only have two? I have eight and they are all smitten with me, but not all at the same time. I sleep on the couch now that I am all alone and there isn't room for all of them but often I have three of them there with me and two on the back of the couch. They all stay around the living room at night, none of them go in the bedroom anymore now that I don't sleep there. They even follow me into the bathroom... I can't have any privacy around here unless I close the bathroom door.My two definitely count. Never had cats who were so smitten with me. Even though they have each other, they clearly love me.
(And I don't write that only because I have 36 sharp claws near my family jewels, ready to strike. ;-)
Yeah Duane, but lonely does not quite cover it. Try to imagine yourself without Sara after 40 years of marriage. It must be lonely on a day where family is celebrated, but you have no family.
Just trying to not mention the person you're without. A failed attempt to soften the blow.Yeah Duane, but lonely does not quite cover it. Try to imagine yourself without Sara after 40 years of marriage.
That's like asking me not to think about the pink elephant in the room.Just trying to not mention the person you're without. A failed attempt to soften the blow.
