there is love of self and love of other as self.

there is love with love of self; which is an immature love.

To me equals would mean as ' brothers '. God and Abraham were Not brothers.
Brothers are equal family members. Friends are Not brothers.

I find among the many blessings bestowed upon Abraham was that privilege or honor to be called God's friend.
That was because of Abraham's outstanding faith in his God. In that sense Abraham walked with his God.
Abraham demonstrated his faith to the greatest degree by his willingness to offer up Isaac.
That is in harmony with Jesus words found at John 15:12-14 to do what God commands means His friendship.
Abraham's faith or confidence was so strong that he knew God would resurrect Isaac right away - Genesis 22:5.
Isaac had to be resurrected in order for the promised 'seed' (offspring) Messiah to come through Isaac.
As Genesis informs us, before Abraham offered up Isaac that God provided the sacrifice - Genesis 22:12-14.
The account tells us just how strong Abraham's confidence was in his God. The greatest love, love for God.

mankind is an image of god. you are attempting to separate god from man. this is why jesus said you are all gods.

friend means lover basically one who loves, or lover of someone, something.

tribalism is a form of immature love. children are loving towards all, their minds generally haven't become conditioned to love/hate until they have been so by "their" parents, or "their" culture.

there are 60 year olds that are immature because of their self-aggrandizing beliefs. physiological and psychological maturity do not necessarily increase at the same rate.

Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

God says to the children of Israel "Be ye holy for I am holy".

In D&C 93:29 Man was also in the beginning with God..

These scriptures all point to the close relationship man has with God. He tells us to be like him. He would not do so unless we had the capacity to be like him. Jesus said "Be ye there perfect, as your Father who is in heaven is perfect"

We are the same type of being as God is just in a different stage of development - just like a child to a parent... Which is why he calls us his children

I find Jesus was referring to Psalms 82:1-8.
The ' ye are gods ' is referring to the 'human judges' who were to use God's judgement as to what was right or wrong.
Those ' human judges ' were acting in the capacity of being representative spokesmen for God.

Could you please post the Scripture to which you are referring.
I find at Genesis 6 the reference to ' sons of God ' ( meaning those fallen-away angels (plural) in Noah's Day )

    Genesis 6:2
the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.

    Genesis 6:4
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

Thank you for your reply because I was not sure what you meant by ' son's of god '.
Yes, Genesis mentions ' sons of God ' as those fallen angels.
The Nephilim were the 'hybrid sons' resulting from those demonic angels mating with earth's women.
