Good for them.
Stand their ground.

But both Dems & Pubs do try their hardest though.thats because bigotry is a hard position to defend in a debate
But both Dems & Pubs do try their hardest though.
Presidential debates are as useful as a beauty pageant.
We get no information....just performances that manipulate
people susceptible to emotional impressions.
That's the problem, ie, getting a sense ofIt's a pressure situation. You get some idea of how they would perform under public pressure and how they can respond to being challenged.
Or the recognition that debates are useless at best? But what this refusal shows is that the right is a bunch of "snowflakes" that can't stand even the hint of heat.
That's the problem, ie, getting a sense of
something that matters little. I don't care if
a Prez is lacking in extemporaneous zingers
Doesn't sound like a measure of leadership,It's not about the zingers or what's said, but the ability to logically rebut a challenge, without resorting to zingers.
As well as stress and pressure tolerance.

A thought though....
In any debate between politicians, they should skip the
pretense that it's about the issues. make it a talent &
swimsuit competition.
But not good for democracy or America.
What ground is that? What exactly does refusing to participate in debate offer as a virtue?Stand their ground.
Then chumps support democracy and have actual ideas to help improve society, and can defend these ideas in a debate.Debates are for chumps.
Yes. Much more so than watching their sound-bite commercials, or going to their driveling websites.……
Or the recognition that debates are useless at best?
Do you really get value from watching them?

Doesn't sound like a measure of leadership,
or is it informative about agendas for the country.
Speaking personally, I do get value from watching them. Part of what makes a debate better or worse is the substance of questions being asked and the ability of the moderator to control unruly participants (which with Trump proved near impossible). The ability to respond substantively to policy questions, as well as cross-examination about their positions, is something I want in a President.
GOP spokesperson explaining their position.Misleading thread title. The GOP supports debates. It just can no longer accept the biased Commission and its unprofessional biased so-called debates. There is a difference.
