Goodness

Like the sap in the shrub growing to be a flower,

like the dark silent night changing to a sweet morning,

like the stone becoming a gem,

so does the human grows into goodness. ;)

Just as the blooming of the wild flower is in solitude and anonymity, so is goodness. It is not a cheap communal property, to be owned and discarded for convenience. It comes when it comes and it leaves when it leaves.

Like our friend Wordsworth pointed out : "To see the world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower ; Hold infinity in the palm of your hand. And eternity in an hour."

The working definition of a Gem offered by the International Gem Society is:

Minerals that have been chosen for their beauty and durability, then cut and polished for use as human adornment. [source]

The stone doesn't grow into a gem. It is curated by others and then literally has gemstoneness beaten into it. :)

Well, technically he wrote the stone becomes a gem, not grows into it. That's what he wrote about the human. He didn't clarify how the stone becomes a gem.

So, one may say, when the human is repeatedly beaten by nature, and is thrown into it's furnace, ya know,

and proves he isn't going to jump out like one without any cajones( might sound familiar to ya)

then there is the possibility, but only a possibility (as there are other factors involved)

that the gem of goodness might flower in such a human.
