Revelation 17
17Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, ‘Come, I will show you the judgement of the great whore who is seated on many waters, 2with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and with the wine of whose fornication the inhabitants of the earth have become drunk.’ 3
So he carried me away in the spirit* into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. 4The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication; 5and on her forehead was written a name, a mystery: ‘Babylon the great, mother of whores and of earth’s abominations.’ 6
And I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints and the blood of the witnesses to Jesus.
When I saw her, I was greatly amazed.7But the angel said to me, ‘Why are you so amazed? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. 8The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to ascend from the bottomless pit and go to destruction.
And the inhabitants of the earth, whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be amazed when they see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.
9 ‘This calls for a mind that has wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; also, they are seven kings, 10of whom five have fallen, one is living, and the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain for only a little while. 11As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction. 12
And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. 13These are united in yielding their power and authority to the beast; 14they will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.’
15 And he said to me, ‘The waters that you saw, where the whore is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. 16And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the whore; they will make her desolate and naked; they will devour her flesh and burn her up with fire. 17
For God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by agreeing to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled. 18The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.’
I find scriptures like these very frustrating, not only because they're so judgemental and condemning, but because God purposely chooses to be so unclear, so that good people will be more confused.
There is so much end time hysteria and confusion about scripture, and people who come to opposite conclusions about the same text because it's so unclear.
It sickens me that God wants us to be so confused and refuses to speak clearly so that people can know what he's saying.
I pray without ceasing for understanding and God refuses to give it to me... The more I read the Bible, the more confused I become.
If God didn't want people to be confused, why didn't he just give clear instructions about who the man of lawlessness is, instead of all this vague symbolism that doesn't make sense.
So many people in history have been accused of being the Antichrist... So many people thought they saw the signs that they were living in the final hour... So many people that pray and pray to God for wisdom and understanding are so mistaken it's disgusting.
Instead of describing a woman on a beast with seven heads, he could speak clearly and tell us what's really going on.
Oh yes, and God left the clue about Seven Hills... Whoopty Doo a lot of nations claim to be built on Seven Hills.
God is clearly asking for people to be confused, and he's asking for people to go the way of the Antichrist. By leaving us in confusion and refusing to speak clearly, he's asking for it.
God must really love the Antichrist, because according to end time hysteria, God is going to essentially hand the entire world over to him, and when God chose to warn us about him in scripture, God purposely chose to be extremely vague, extremely symbolic, and extremely unclear.
By giving us instructions that no one can understand, God clearly wants us to be confused...
God is clearly playing games. He clearly wants the devil to be deceiving people. I don't know why this is so hard for people to understand.
It's so obvious yet people insist God doesn't want it... If God doesn't want people to be deceived, then why does he not restrain the devil, why doesn't he give people understanding, why does he speak so unclearly, and why don't all people who seek find the truth?... It's cuz God wants people to be confused, duh!
The more I read scripture the more I can see God is seriously asking for it!
I can tell God really favors the Antichrist , because not only is he handing the world over to him, but he's giving the Antichrist the power to deceive the elect... And when it was time for God to warn people about the Antichrist, he chose to speak in extremely confusing symbolic language.
God must really love Satan and the Antichrist! He's making their job very easy!
