One thing that lefties, righties & libertarians can all agree upon.
France is getting what it richly deserves.

so is that a good or bad thing?

anyway, perhaps Europe will gradually turn Red.

Spain socialist, now France, looks like the Conservatives in UK are up for a bashing next election and surely the old crony in Italy must be on his way out soon (Berlusconi)

Putin at the helm in Russia too - things are on the up!;)

Sarkozy did seem to instigate a lot of protests and I think it was time for him to go for sure.

He would have fared better in the Thatcher/Reagan years I reckon.

I hope for a red Europe as well, but Norway is the most socialist nation I know though so it wouldn't be much of a change for us.

Sarkozy is not very right-wing, though, is he? I remember reading about his many vitriolic rants against capitalism.

Red =/= Socialism

Let's not confuse a gov't system with an economic policy here.

I mean... I'm not anti communism here at all, don't get me wrong.

Marxist Communism, Left Libertarianism and Christian Anarchy is one side of the thing,
but that Lennonist stuff should never resurface imo.

But I AM 100% on board with socialism.....

Wasn't France already democratic?

Although, to be honest, choosing between Sarkozy and Hollande was not much of a choice at all.
