I'd say it's the same reason there's a flood in Republican campaign adds ran around here just before the election that are all doom and gloom and telling us about how bad crime is and will get if Dems are voted out.
Someone finally answered earlier.
Questions are so difficult to directly address, eh.

Please refrain from personal or off-topic remarks and keep Rules 1, 3, and 9 in mind while posting.

1. Personal Comments About Members and Staff
Personal attacks and name-calling, whether direct or in the third person, are strictly prohibited on the forums. Critique each other's ideas all you want, but under no circumstances personally attack each other or the staff. Quoting a member's post in a separate/new thread without their permission to challenge or belittle them, or harassing staff members for performing moderation duties, will also be considered a personal attack.

3. Trolling and Bullying
Where Rule 1 covers personal attacks, Rule 3 governs other behaviors and content that can generally be described as being a jerk. Unacceptable behaviors and content include:

1) Content (whether words or images) that most people would find needlessly offensive, especially when such content is posted just to get a rise out of somebody and/or is not part of a reasoned argument.

2) Defamation, slander, or misrepresentation of a member's beliefs/arguments, or that of a particular group, culture, or religion. This includes altering the words of another member to change their meaning when using the quote feature.
3) Antagonism, bullying, or harassment - including but not limited to personal attacks, slander, and misrepresentation - of a member across multiple content areas of the forums. Repeatedly targeting or harassing members of particular groups will also be considered bullying.

9. Subverting/Undermining the Forum Mission
The mission of Religious Forums is to provide a civil, informative, respectful, and welcoming environment where people of diverse beliefs can discuss, compare, and debate. Content members create while debating and discussing must be done in the spirit of productivity. Bashing other forums, creating unproductive content or responses to others, attempting to use this site as a platform for campaigning for or against or furthering a personal agenda, and attempting to undermine the forum mission may result in moderation.

Hey, just like my idol Tucker Carlson, I am just asking questions.

Why did the coverage drop like that? What happened around that time that could cause such a change? Why was the crime coverage so high, why did it rise throughout the months of September and October and the first week of November? And why did it drop so precipitously when it did? Was there really a drop in crime? Is there some reason the audience would be less interested?

You are a very smart man who keeps up with current events. Do you have a theory?

It could be due to the Republicans winning the House, and now in a good position to do something about crime, rather that just have their propaganda wing in the media report it, hoping something will be done.

For example, it was a crime to call the Hunter Biden Laptop; Russian disinformation, just before the 2020 election. Nothing was done by the Democrats to correct this with transparency. Now Twitter and the new House are starting to investigate this. People prefer solutions to problems, rather than just constant pointing it out.

An interesting part of that particular scam disinformation scam was the large number of former intel people who signed a letter saying that the FBI disinformation, about Russian Disinformation, was truthful. It would interesting to see how they came to that conclusion and why so many experts were so wrong. If these were the best we had, we are all in trouble. It all sounded like a continuation of the Cold War mixed with the Russian Collusion Coup.

The reason segments on crime went down is to provide you anti-fox'ers a reason to go ballistic

When you reduce the effectiveness of the police, common sense tells us that the criminals will become even more bold. The Liberal narrative of nice people of color being harassed by the police was not exactly the whole truth. Harassment did occur, but there were also a lot of bad people out there, that are not victims but are the victimizers.

The problems is people on the Left tend to use emotional thinking which makes you think in terms of all or not based on a broad brush. One needs to use cool reason to see that all or not, is not rational or real.

All or not emotional thinking is analogous of a person in love, who can see no wrong in the person they love. Everyone else around them, who are not emotional caged, can be more objective. If and when their emotions sour, now they they can see no right in the other person. Other people around them may try to help them see the good that was done, but to no avail. One cannot successfully deal with an emotional thinker, with data and reason alone, since they see what they feel. Fox reached the rational people and got tired of the gilded lovers, on the Left, who cannot control their linear thinking.

Another analogy is the abused wife, who loves her mate and makes excuses for their behavior. She will even blame her friends if they try to make get her to become objective to the real source of her pain. Burying the Hunter Biden Laptop story was sleazy. But since the base loves this abusive mate, they will make excuses and resist the truth.
