Found the Easter Bunny

but I made you look

what I did find was a newborn rabbit
about to become a chew toy for the puppy

I called the dog off
but the little guy was left in the drive way on a rainy cold morning

so....I gathered it into a shoe box and brought it inside
to get the shivers off of it

I returned it to the outdoors under the bush out front
and made the shoe box into an opened end shelter

what do you think?
will momma rabbit come to collect?

or maybe letting the dog have her way would have been better?

That's a decent thing you did there.

I'm not sure mommy will come looking (i don't know enough about the maternal instinct of rabbits). So its likely to become dog or cat food soon.

Are there fields/farmland near you that it could have strayed from. If so, i would be looking for a warren to return it to (but i am like that with animals)

Or perhaps its an escaped pet, ask around the neighborhood.

On the Scottish side, we were known as the "Gentle Johnstons".
Like the bald guy being called "Curly".
Or the big guy being called "Tiny".
