For charismatic Christians, the Capitol riot and Trump's impeachment can't stop prophesies

Can't really seem to find a sub-forum for this type of article, but this seems to be the right one. Mods, feel free to move it if you can find a better place for it.

I have been following some of these 'prophets' for several months. When things don't go the way they prophesied, they either:

    1. go crazy
    2. double down ferociously, or
    3. obfuscate to cover their gaff

This thread is a place for people to post examples of these prophets.

For charismatic Christians, the Capitol riot and Trump's impeachment can't stop prophesies that say he will win

Pardon the tangent, but I'm quite surprised the Telegraph made the mistake of using the verb "prophesies" as a noun instead of "prophecies" in the title.

I guess even big news outlets are prone to the simplest writing mistakes.

I'm not sure about the three options as if there are no others.

I remember when God said, and the prophet said, "You don't want a king" but the people kept pressing the issue.

Again, God replied through His prophet, "They are going to tax you, take from the efforts of your work and force your children to work for them"... none-the-less the people cried out "NO! WE WANT A GOVERNMENT LIKE EVERY ONE ELSE" (Paraphrased)

So God said... "OK... Have it your way". One could think that the prophet was wrong... but no, the prophet was right and the people made it wrong.

Then with Joshua and Caleb who doubled-down ferociously and said "We can take the land". Others probably thought they were crazy... but they did go into the promised land even when most of the others didn't.

At the time of Ester, she followed through with the opportunity and was delivered at the last moment... however, had she not, people would have perishedbut God would have opened another opportunity at another tie.

So, it is a matter of perspective.

Faith is an interesting thing and many times brings an interesting result.

I've seen some admit they were wrong and leave whatever media platform they prophesized from.

This is very interesting, in a creepy sort of way. I suppose this explains why people like @KenS, who seemed in other ways not an unreasonable person, swallowed all this rubbish. God is telling them to overthrow democracy!

I did laugh out loud about the guy with a bad back who drove for miles to "be heard". Someone should tell him he already made himself heard when he cast his vote. And beyond that, he has no right to "be heard" more than anyone else.

The weirdest thing of all is that a man like Trump, with no moral scruples, no empathy, no kindness, no learning, no style, no class, and the most self-centred man in the history of American politics, should be the vehicle supposedly chosen by God to enact his will.

Remember when Harold Camping said the world was going to end on May 21st, 2011? A lot of people ran up debt, quit their jobs, and even sold their houses thinking it would come true. Internet historian makes a pretty good documentary about the subject. :D

Anyways, after May 21st came and went, rather than admitting he was wrong, Camping doubled down and moved the rapture date to October 21st.

I expect something similar to happen here. After Trump loses and goes home, the prophecy will be adjusted to his victory taking place in 2024.

Presumably, like St Peter, an angel will strike off his chains and lead him out of the prison.:D

Isn't this the Prosperity Gospel charlatan, who makes money out of poor people giving up their savings in the hope it will make them rich?

She sounds like the just the sort of spiritual guide that would appeal to Trump. :D

The bible literally says that god decides who governs nations. If trump loses that privilege, it would be because god didn't want him to have it, not because of demons... Why is it always demons?

I think by faith in this comparison of the Bible with today's current events, you mean cognitive dissonance?

Israel crying for a king, like all the other nations, is directly comparable to these Steal the Election Republicans who want an Authoritarian ruler versus a Democracy, where the will of the minority is imposed upon the people through tyrannical rule, making a mockery of democratic processes, lying and stealing, and cheating.

The failure of the prophecy here, is not that it was God's will that Trump be allowed to steal the election through deceit and lies and propaganda, spreading The Big Lie. That would be against God's will. So the problem with these so-called prophets, is that they were praying for something that was against the will of God. Lying, deceit, and theft, is never God's will.

There was one who admitted he was wrong, taking the path of admitting error and humility. He was verbally violently attacked for admitting a mistake by the true believers.

Yes, I read that article you posted in the other thread. Death threats, horrible threats from scores of Christians who believe in Trump and these failed prophecies. "By their fruits, you shall know them". The greatest litmus test ever given to discern who is following the truth, and who is not.

    That is an easy one

People who talk about Demons have demons in them, hence they come out while talking. I can't make it any better, sadly.

This is precisely what stumps me. What a choice! I just can't wrap my mind around it. Trump is an absolute buffoon. The only thing I can come to is that seeing a completely daft a-hole in the position of presidency somehow validates some core psychological aspect of a lot of other daft a-holes. Something like a sign that "anything is possible," and even those among us who may feel poorly about themselves have a shot, or something along those lines. Otherwise, I have no idea what the heck is going on.

It is very interesting, IMV, how one can get so twisted in what they are reading that they can actually believe what they just posted. ;)

Using my own statements... yes, it can cut both ways.

If a prophecy can "cut both ways," it's not much of a prophecy.
