Been talking about food and that big steak I'm gonna have--I thought it might be fun to start a thread about food. I will start with a slice of warm apple pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Tonight I had veggie pizza with mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and black olives. I think it may have even had some feta cheese on it. :)

We had black bean/sticky black rice burgers. It was our invention about 2 months ago. Boss and me like to experiment. Yesterday I made gluten free veggie pizza with besan flour. We can still get kale and swiss chard from the garden despite -5 C or so last night. One kid brought over a bag of apples, not quite enough to get a drying rack out, so Boss made apple sauce. I grate my own coconut to add to oatmeal.

I have a different definition of food than most people.

    It's probably for the best.

Careful now. They're usually harmless, but if cornered, coons sometimes bite.

Yeah, they look cute. There was a hole in the garage door for a time, and we would have a nightly visitor hitting the bag of cat food. Don't know where he is now that the door is fixed.

We had one we used to feed at our old house. Called him 'No Neck' because he was so fat. Put an end to that when he started acting hostile to our cat that went outdoors. Had to chase him off...

We think one snitched our outdoor cat's dish the other day...you know, the magic food dish that every time we come back has more food in it? Nowhere to be found...

Had to poke a little one the other day...he had his face buried in the replacement dish...the older one dashed away as soon as I opened the door, but he kept eating...so I got about six inches away and spoke in a loud voice...he looked at me for a moment...then started shoveling more food into his mouth...so I poked him with a finger, and that finally made him jump...although he thought about trying to climb back up to the dish on the shelf again...

When my oldest son was young, he kicked the screen out of his bedroom window, just for fun. To try to deter this new activity, I told him raccoons would get into his bedroom at night and wear his clothes. "No they won't. Raccoons don't wear clothes." So I got out my computer and asked him "Well, how do you explain this?"[IMG] And that was the end of that.

I would walk in on our garage bandit every so often. He would run a short distance and stop to give me a look. They love their food too.
