I don't think it's really necessary as we already have the FBI.

But on the other hand, if a special police force is engaged on the fly, it might detect and enforce fraud much sooner and quicker and apprehend those responsible in a way that helps avoid after the facts issues that have plauged our modern day elections.

What do you think? Should there be a police force soley focused on preservation of the voting system?

If it keeps the right happy, go for it, even though
"Election security experts, officials, analysts, and Trump's own Attorney General William Barr have found no evidence of widespread voter fraud." "

" "During the 2020 presidential election, incumbent President Donald Trump made numerous false allegations of electoral fraud by Democraticcandidate Joe Biden. The Trump campaign filed numerous legal challenges to the results, making unsubstantiated allegations accusing Democrats of manipulating the votes in favor of Biden. The campaign lost 64 of 65 lawsuits.

Given the events that happened last January, perhaps DeSantis and other politicians should look into supporting a police force to counter insurrection attempts rather than unproven "voter fraud."

Utter waste of resources, since there is no evidence of any significant voter fraud in the USA, as over 50 recent court judgements have shown.

Most likely, this stunt is an attempt to intimidate poor - and black - voters, who may fear the police, from going to the polls. So yet another small but sinister step away from the democratic principle of universal suffrage.

Waste of money, there were severely investigations and court cases, all found no evidence of widespread voter fraud.

Maybe those who protested too much need to learn the meaning of democracy rather than foot stomping and insurrection

If there's a need for any more policing, events over the past couple of years suggest it might be directed more at getting elected politicians to behave better.

Good idea! They can make sure people vote the correct way, and then oversee the counting process so all the votes are being counted properly. I can already see a Republican 105% win on the horizon.

    I applaud Florida's decision.

In my country the Left dared propose the electronic vote last year.
They were silenced after five seconds.

In my country there will never be electronic vote!

What does this have to do with Michigan, Arizona, Georgia - or Florida, for that matter?

    It appears unnecessary....unless one believes
that Trump's win was stolen. There's a risk that
cops in a highly politically charged environment
with a governor who wants a particular outcome
    might be corrupt.

    Michigan is "famously left leaning"?
    Nah.
We swap out Pub & Dem governors regularly.
    Trump won here in 2016.
    We're mixed.

Because you correctly read it as an anti-left measure.

I think that the electronic voting is not safe. So...Florida's measure is very sensible.
Or alternatively, they can suppress electronic voting.

Of course, if leftists win elections, then the election process has to be fraudulent in some way.

In Germany electronic voting was abolished after Angela Merkel was elected.
It was also abolished in UK and Netherlands

Does that mean this police force could arrest DeSantis for making libelous false accusations of election fraud despite ample evidence of absence? Isn't accusing a fair election of being fraudulent even after ample investigation failed to demonstrate any of it and after those lies caused violence not a form of electoral fraud in and on themselves? Is DeSantis aware that it could bite him in the butt since he is was making and still making fraudulent claims?
