Well then, if TWO primitive mythologies say it's flat, then I guess we all will just have to totally ignore all the facts showing it to be a sphere and warn all the children to stay away from the edge so they don't fall off the earth.

What's so hard to understand is why the ancient Greeks could figure out the earth is round -- and could reason how to measure its circumference -- and a person in our day and age simply can't get there. And the reason? He was conditioned not to. He was trained into ignorance. He was persuaded to ignore what didn't fit what he'd been conditioned to believe.

And then, predictably, his ignorance killed him. It often does.

I find it funny that you accept this as truth, but also kinda sad. There's certainly not any similarity between Hitler and Trump. But, also it's worth mentioning that Hitler's rise to power was basically driven by Germany basically being bankrupted by WW1. He really didn't have a choice to war his neighbors or not -- he did it or they starved. Trump is a complete pacifist by comparison... He sees war as economically damaging and does whatever he thinks is most likely to overt that scenario. The two really couldn't be further apart on the issue and many others like socialism. (which Hitler was completely down with...)

The authors were up to date with their science in their place and time, indeed. Just as ours mostly are.

But the people who presently declare the earth to be flat will usually mention the bible at some point.

My experiences on the net debating creationists and the fundy view of an inerrant bible over quite a few years indicate that even they don't argue the world is flat, rather that the numerous statements to that effect in the bible mean something else.

They're similar in the sense that both oversaw programs of concentration camps to hold people seen as not deserving of full rights.

They're definitely different in the sense that Hitler was motivated by ideology, while Trump really only seems to be motivated by self-interest.

I don’t believe that anyone can believe in flat earth, because mountains are almost everywhere.

Also, it would be good to understand, in Bible, earth doesn’t mean planet earth, it means only dry land. And according to the Bible, in the beginning there was just one continent that was called earth, or dry land. And as one could understand, continent is relatively flat.

More than anything it's a conspiracy theory mindset. Trying to use some other thing as support such as a distorted or misread verse in scripture is only an attempt to make the conspiracy theory seem more respectable.

One thing to realize -- anything with prestige, such as America, the flag, God, the Bible -- will be used by groups to try to lend legitimacy to their own agendas that have nothing to do with the prestigious thing being used.

I understand that you just don't have what it takes to comprehend this, but with Trump in office and Republicans backing him, he is completely destroying our laws, policies, government system, and trampling on everything we hold dear in our Constitution. He is only out to enrich himself and his filthy rich cronies, and doesn't care one bit about you or any other average American. And as long as he's in power, our entire democracy is GONE! As EVERYTHING just HAS to be his way or no way. He is way to narcissistic to listen to ANYBODY. Just look how he attacks ANYBODY who DARES to oppose him, no matter how petty the issue. So "We the People" of the Unites States, is GONE! And you just wait and see if I'm right, he will use whatever illegal means necessary to cheat in the next election. Trump seems to be a 50/50. Certainly, he's motivated by self-interest but so is everyone else -- he just doesn't bother to hide it. But, if it comes to things which have nationwide effect then he seems to be more "for the people" and whatever seems to be right in that regard. I mean I don't particularly see anyone in the Dem leadership is being overly altruistic either.
