Actress and LGBTQ activist Laverne Cox is getting her own Barbie. Mattel has created a Barbie doll in her likeness as part of its Tribute Collection. The company often models dolls after real life people, and this is the first trans Barbie they have ever made.

They make dolls modeled after real person's. Is it about time they used a transgendered model?
Should manufactures go further in providing transgendered options for children's toys?

Human biology creates obvious and not-so-obvious hermaphrodites, or intersexed people at a rate of approximately 2% of a population. With populations in the hundreds of millions in the US, that's a lot of people. Why shouldn't they see themselves represented?
