I've completed eighth year theology
courses at both Catholic and Baptist
Seminaries. There are two lines of Bibles, Syrian and Alexandrian. They do not match in content, volume or doctrine.
I completely misread this the first time you said it. I read it as "I've completed eight years of theology courses..."

Do you mean that you've completed two 800-level courses?

Were either of them on the history of the Bible?

Yeah I’m trying to figure out what he means here. Seminary isn’t 8 years long. In either denomination.

The Catholic Seminary I attended
the M.Div. is four years.
TH-101-402 undergraduate courses
TH-502-801 graduate courses

Your right. You don't need any formal
education to understand the
differences between Catholic
and Baptist theology.

There is no such thing as "the bible" .
Why is that so hard to understand ?

There are two lines of bibles.
Each line gives precedence to
conflicting lines of manuscripts,
Syrian and Alexandrian.

They do not match in content,
volume or doctrine.

This is not hard to understand.

Wait... you have an M.Div from a Catholic seminary? o_O

I assumed you were misrepresenting Catholic views on the Bible because you didn't know any better. If you really did know better... why are you doing it?

There is no such thing as " the bible " .

There are over 300 English Bibles
which do not match in content,
volume or doctrine.

Be sincere.
What book are you calling "the bible" ?

I'm saying the same thing
over and over. Not one single
person will answer my question.

I know why. There never was an original
Bible with the original autographs.

Catholics are Original Only Theory.
There are no original autographs
known to exist. Catholics believe
they do not have infallible scripture.

Baptist are Purified Text Theory.
Baptist believe they do have
infallible scripture.

No; it's because it's a ridiculous question.

Studying the history of the Bible would mean studying all - or at least most - of the various translations and versions of the Bible.

I don't generally assume that people online are telling the truth regardless, but the way you dodged my question about whether you studied Biblical history makes me suspect that you don't actually have any seminary training at all.

What I’m finding difficult to understand is why that seems to be such an emergency to you? So there are “two lines.” So what? So what if they don’t “match?”

Do you have infallible scripture

given by inspiration of God ?

1. none of the original autographs theory

2. only the original autographs theory

3. purified text theory

The Record Theory answers
the questions of final canonization
and final authority.

Can I speak rude in speech,
but not in knowledge.

You don't even know
what the questions are.

Presbyterians wrapped this up so nice and final once. I wish I could remember the words. What if God had Completed what Humankind was going to be revealed to them? That way, we are simply negating the Catholic position.
