Happiness, that's what it got me.

Since we are not living in a theocracy the Bible is irrelevant when it comes to policies.

I think it's adorable how mad you are at people with a different sexual orientation considering it has no effect on your life. Or are you being forced to make out with dudes and marry them?

For certain types of Christians, such points can't be emphasized enough. What ever our reasons, what ever our backgrounds, so many of us improved tremendously after we left Christianity. Now, of course those who need this information the most will be in denial (often they attempt to mock and ridicule our character and resilience, or just claim we never were Christian to begin with), but they can be drown in vocal sea of people who's suffering was ameliorated by "kicking the Bible to the curb."

Lotta Christian thought is to the effect that it is sinful
    to be happy.

We're not living in a godless world. The Bible teaches that there will be consequences for kicking God to the curb. Therefore, one should proceed at one's own risk.

What part of the teachings of Christ left you scarred?

With Jesus himself, it's that such an allegedly "loving" and "forgiving" and "merciful" entity is still super obsessed with eternal damnation, punishment, furnaces and darkness.

Jesus was obsessed with saving people, as evidenced by how he lived and died. People who kick Christ's salvation to the curb are the ones responsible for any damnation they might receive.

The only damnation I'll ever receive was the damnation I had as a Christian. It was a toxin being pumped into my veins, and it had to come to an end. I left it, cut it out of my life, and the nightmares and torments of going to Hell came to an end. Fears and anxieties of angering a god who is highly prone to anger came to an end. I shed those shackles, and the burden of sin was truly lifted from my shoulders.

I stopped being afraid of the boogeyman when I was 6 years old. I think it's time you grow out of it aswell.

Threats are never a good way of getting people to believe you.

Trying to convince people who know better that there isn't a Lake of Fire is not a good way to get people to believe you.

Christ's love and salvation is toxic? Bull. I don't know what was eating you but it wasn't Christ and his love and salvation.

    For me, it was.
It wasn't eating me, it was killing me. It was bad enough it took several years after I left it all behind before I finally gained the will and want to live.

Threatening people with posthumous torture isn't a great way to get people to believe you, either.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I'm just making sure people who read this notice how you still haven't managed to form one coherent argument.

Good for you if you enjoy the thought of me burning for eternity because I had the audacity to love someone your chosen God doesn't approve of but please know that your religious doctrine has no place in determining public policy.

Your idea of love is contrary to Godly standards.

If it's all about love then two adulterers in love must be okay with God too. Nope, not a chance.

    For the record,

"Love does not rejoice in iniquity" - 1 Corinthians 13

    And,

"Love does no harm to a neighbor" - Romans 13:10 (Love does no harm to a neighbor, like enticing one's neighbor into a sinful relationship for which there are negative temporal and eternal consequences)

So, nice try but no cigar.

So, the love of Christ is killing you? I've never heard such nonsense.

Why give the scriptures any credibility at all? Do you realize how immoral they paint your God to be?

Oh, please do enlighten me why me loving my boyfriend isn't "real love".

And if you only argument is "because God does not like it" then I herby suggest God take his opinion and shove it where the sun don't shine. Maybe I have to remind you that you and me both live in countries with S-E-C-U-L-A-R governments which means that your religious 'opinion' is worthless and cannot be used to enact public policy.

But do appreciate your honesty. Should someone asks me "why are you so against religous fundamentalism?" in the future I can always point to posts like yours and say "because somehow people like him still exist in 2019 and are a direct threat to my pursuit of happiness."
