“Happy are they who follow the law of the Lord.” (Responsorial Psalm)

    1. Matthew 21:1-11
    2. Isaiah 50:4-7
    3. Philippians 2:6-11
    4. Matthew 26:14, 27-66

REFLECTION: An orderly society needs laws to guarantee that its citizens can live in harmony and safety. Laws also ensure that some people do not have an unfair advantage over others. The Scripture readings for this coming Sunday remind us of God’s law, the source of all the just rules that govern living.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, you have said to us that your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Help us to believe this and help us turn to you in prayer. Amen.

Take a look at your life. What burdens do you carry? Which of them are “extra”?

Meditate today on burdens that you might receive from others and those you give to others. Think how you might reduce all these.

Pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary today for all lawgivers that they make just laws.

In your meditation today, review the Ten Commandments and take some time to read a description of the meaning of each commandment.

Discuss with your family today, the unwritten laws that operate within the family and for what purpose.

Pray for all those today who are victims of unjust laws and decisions that are not fair.

PRAYER: God our Father, you have promised to remain forever with those who do what is just and right. Help us to live in your presence. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son. Amen.
