Bertrand Russell (early to mid 20th century) is one of my heros, being an atheist who helped Christians reform their Chrsitianity by seeing that they do more harm than good with superstitious views of sexuality, abortion, and showing that the metaphysical reality of God cannot be a product of science or philosophy.
