What on earth should we do with those poor dogs that can't even recognise their own species - as when they try to have sex with a human leg?

Its not unusual for a male dog to attempt mounting another male dog, unless of course the dog didn't have the same instinct to mount a female dog.

This reminds me of when talked with a pastor and she was going on about how homosexuality ain't natural and as she was talking her male dog started mounting another male dog...

The person who abandoned the dog is a terrible person and dont know jack about dogs. Many of them hump everything

Same-sex North Carolina couple adopt dumped 'gay dog' Fezco - and rename him after Oscar Wilde | Daily Mail Online

A dog was dumped to an animal shelter for mounting another male dog, where he was adopted by a same-sex couple. The new owners state the dog was showing signs of neglect.

Mounting and humping other dogs is pretty common in puppies. My daughter's dog does it all the time. It's part of socialisation for the other dog to let the puppy know not to do it. I would say that most owners don't want their dog to be humping other dogs and children who are on the floor and peoples' legs etc.
It's a full time job to keep her dog from doing that at times. He is being desexed and that might make it easier.

When i was at a ranch for a visit i saw a cow
( female) mount another cow.
I was told they do that all the time.

The gay o phobe people, what would they do
If they find out about that.

Oh, my Cod! Are there gay fish too?! I bet that would make a homophobic haddock feel eel.

Good point. Last year there was a news headline 'gay penguin' discovered, and the reason, he sat on a rock in the shape of an egg. If they knew anything about penguins, the male shares in the nesting responsibilities.

There's worse! There are species
that change sex entirely!

Some species of male fish in the Potomac River are developing female sexual traits at a frequency higher than scientists have seen before, raising concerns about pollutants in a waterway that provides drinking water for millions of people.

There are absolutely animals that preform same-sex sexual behavior even in a rich heterosexual environment, even monogamous and child rearing. (Biological Exuberance is a great book, for those who haven't seen it.)

But this isn't one of those cases. And it's always sad when neglect is a result of malice and/or ignorance.
