Acts 20:28
So watch out for yourself and for the whole flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers to guard the church of God, which he purchased through his own blood!

There are some bible translations that write: " through the blood of his son". But this is an addition, the ancient texts literally says: "in which the holy spirit.....through his own blood" so the blood refers to the Holy Spirit.

No, and the holy isn't referenced as he

meh...
Does the “he” there refer to the Holy Spirit or to God? They are both mentioned in the verse, and God is closer to the “he”.

Acts 20:28 King James Version (KJV)

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

No it refers to the church which God has purchased with his own blood

The Holy Spirit is God.

There is another biblical passage that could say that the Holy Spirit is the Son.
The Son once said, "He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood stays in me and I in him."
Couldn't he mean his spirit by that? He who eats his spirit, or rather takes his spirit upon himself, abides in him and he in him. The Son could be the wisdom that speaks in Proverbs 8. And the wisdom is identified in the Old and New Testaments as the Holy Spirit.

"Holy Spirit" (πνευμα το αγιον) in Greek is in the neuter gender, so the neuter pronoun ᾧ is used to refer to it in the first clause, while in the second clause the verb περιεποιήσατο (He purchased) is in the masculine form with Θεοῦ (God) as the subject, also in the masculine. As a rule, the Holy Spirit is never referred to using masculine language unless its alternative title, παράκλητος (Paraclete) is used, which is grammatically masculine. The "which he" refers to God, and it is implied to be God the Son.

Religions typically place far too much importance on blood (for obvious reasons, I'll grant). But blood is no more important than the various other humours that make life possible. Trust me, you won't live long with no cerebro-spinal fluid, but the ancients didn't know anything about that. If they did, there'd be rituals around that, too.

1. "which he purchased through his own blood! " is referring to the Son of Man. The Son of Man did the will of God and we were purchased through the blood of the Son of Man. This allowed the Holy Spirit to be able to make overseers of the whole flock which is also the will of God.

There are some bible translations that write: " through the blood of his son". But this is an addition, the ancient texts literally says: "in which the holy spirit.....through his own blood" so the blood refers to the Holy Spirit.

2. The Gospel of Christ in New Testament speaks of Son of Man becoming a Passover lamb. To my knowledge blood is of the flesh or terrestrial.

2Ti 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

3. Both the Holy Spirit and Son of God are subservient to the Will of God though they also bear witness in heaven.

Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

As others have eloquently pointed out, the "he" in question refers to "God" rather than to "the Holy Spirit". This is, to my mind, even clearer if you read this verse in the context of the preceding one, which refers to God's purpose.

Bible Gateway passage: Acts 20:28 - Mounce Reverse-Interlinear New Testament

The Greek Interlinear renders that verse...."which he purchased with the blood of his own". "Son" is added but it is not there in the Greek. So it isn't saying...
"...watch out for yourself and for the whole flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers to guard the church of God, which he purchased through his own blood!".....But "with the blood of his own"....the blood of someone who belonged to him, so "son" can safely be added as a correct understanding of the verse.

God is a spirit and has no blood. The holy spirit is God's power, directed to accomplish his will, it has no blood either. Only Jesus was a human with blood in his veins.

"To feed the church of God" ?

Muslims say God does not eat nor is he fed..
