Does the Christian view of Homosexuality being compariable to Rape and Murder really make sense?

I hear this often enough from evangelicals, that homosexuality is no different then murder or pedophilia, etc. Does this view really make sense? Then I'm told that this is how God views it. Well then does God's view make sense?

It doesn't really make sense- because murder and pedophilia is harming another person and in homosexuality, no one is being hurt. But why do you call it God's view?- it is man's view.

It depends on the sense they are saying it...

Do they mean that they are all sins, and in that sense comparable? Or do they mean that they are equivalent breaches of morality?

Also, you broadbrush Christianity in the topic line, but then refer to what evangelicals say in the post...

The Bible suggests that all sins are equal. That is where the idea comes from.

The fact though, homosexuals are a minority. Minorities simply face being hated because they are a minority.

What I meant is that there are various places in the Bible that they list sins, but they make no differentiation between any of them.

There must be more to it than that. Left-handed people, RPG players and diabetics are also minorities, yet they are not hated.

Not the slightest sense.
Rape & pedophilia cause harm, homosexuality does not.

This is not God's view, just the view of some narrow-minded hypocrites who assign their own prejudices on (their view of) God.

Left-handed people were discriminated against at one time. In many places, they were forced to use their right hands instead for day to day tasks (this happened especially in schools). It has stopped now, for the most part, but it was once considered horrible (a sign of mental retardation, the devil's sign, etc).

Diabetics may not be hated, but that is more of a physical ailment. People tend to be a little more lenient on that.

As for RPG, many people were discriminated for playing them. At least in a person's school years, there were many cases of people getting beaten up for being a nerd, as they played RPG. It's not so much anymore since they are rising in popularity. But it's a little different anyway, as the games don't define the person. Unless they are fully emerged into them, and believe they are a wizard or what not, and then they do a get a lot of hate.

One big difference between the above and homosexuality though is that we now understand what causes diabetes, why people are left handed, and why people play RPG. But they were all hated at one time, or discriminated against.
