Does politics affect your romantic personl life?

So if your Democrat would you fall for a conservative and vice versa?

I think for me I would not fall for a straight up Republican Trump supporter. However if they are a conservative third party person, most of them who voted for Trump did so to choose the lesser of the evils.

Third party folks who are conservative many times can be supportive to folks who are GLBTs and not racist but are conservative in other ways like finance, guns and abortion. I could fall for someone like that.

I am talking to a liberal Christian now, I think as long as he doesn't try to missionize me we will be ok.

I don't think I could live with anyone of the opposite political stance.
As you say, a Trump supporter would have little in common with me; or in my case a Brexit / Johnson voter

I could be, and have been, sexually attracted to more conservative men, particularly of the libertarian variety. But I think a long term relationship with someone who is not at least center left would be difficult if not impossible.

My partner of 30 years is a member of a socialist party as am I. Just being in the same building as a tory makes me feel nauseous.:D

Anarcho-Pacifism isn't just a political ideology for me; it's a lifestyle that pervades everything I do.

If we're going to be romantic partners, then to me that means we're "life" partners. We have to be on the same page about how to tackle life. We have to have the same lifestyle to have a healthy relationship.

We don't need to practice the same religion. We don't need to like the same music or have the same hobbies. We do have to have the same values, though, or our relationship won't work no matter how hard we try.

Outside of romantic relationships, I have no problem being friends with people I have major disagreements with, whether they're political or theological. Most of the fascists and hardcore Christians I've met willingly cut contact with me because they find me disgusting and intolerable, though, so in practice I guess those relationships tend to be inherently unstable, too.

I remember on Face The Nation show on Sunday there use to two politicians married to each other she was Republican he was Democrat.
They fought all the time on the show.

I don't believe all conservatives hate on GLBTs. My sister Carolyn does not she's ultra conservative.
