Does God laugh?

Scripture says "he who sits in the heavens laughs". Now, I just need to learn how to make him laugh. It might cause him to lighten up a bit and be more kind.

It's kind of strange the thought of an invisible Spirit laughing.

What do you think he finds amusing?

Pretty much every time @Revoltingest posts something, God has a good chuckle.

She must do, every time she realises that her message is being ignored by the evangelical Christians who voted for Trump

Let's go full Trottle
If god is unchanging why would god have emotions. Unchanging to me mean s just that unchanged, like a stone sitting there, or a force that is constant and unchanging.

Maybe god is not a god but a true unchanging constant, and wouldn't the only true constant be change?

Well, if He can sit on a throne, I suppose He could also laugh.

hey Cacopatio,
Energy is never unchanging,
just as the Cosmos.
All energy changes constantly
I hate negatives of negatives !
But...sometimes it takes a while !

I think you've already given Him/Her/It a chuckle or two...just sayin'.

The small book "I Heard God Laughing" renderings of Hafiz by Ladinsky has this poem about what amuses God:

What happens when your soul
Begins to awaken
Your eyes
And your heart
And the cells of your body
To the great Journey of Love?

First there is wonderful laughter
And probably precious tears

And a hundred sweet promises
And those heroic vows
No one can ever keep.

But still God is delighted and amused
You once tried to be a saint.

What happens when your soul
Begins to awake in this world

To our deep need to love
And serve the Friend?

O the Beloved
Will send you
One of His wonderful, wild companions –

Like Hafiz.

I had to think a while, and responded rapidly,
But....I found mineself thinking again,
confused as usual, how in hell could a god exist ?
now forget hell, and heaven doesn't even exist.
Could `God` even be amused ? If `He` even existed ?
Here I go, pretending like `He` exists, amazing to myself.
Pope likes to set these traps, don't you Pope ?
Oh well, if `He` exists, I'm sure that `He` is amazed.
I'm going to stare at my pond some more, and wonder.

I believe you have some truth here. The true constant is ever-changing, never for a moment static. Why it is known as unchanging is because it never stops changing.

Psalm 2:1 What means this turmoil among the nations? Why do the peoples cherish vain dreams? 2 See how the kings of the earth stand in array, how its rulers make common cause, against the Lord, and against the King he has anointed, 3 crying, Let us break away from their bondage, rid ourselves of the toils! 4 He who dwells in heaven is laughing at their threats, the Lord makes light of them; 5 and at last, in his displeasure, he will speak out, his anger quelling them: 6 Here, on mount Sion, my sanctuary, I enthrone a king of my own choice.
