I see so many arguements here about a god existing or a god not existing, show me your evidence a god does exist and show me evidence a god doesn't exist, etc.

Its all pretty pointless being a god exists by having belief/faith or a god doesn't exist by not having belief/faith.

I myself do not know if a god or any god does exist. A god could have set everything into motion and has since let everything from the universe to life evolve or it all could have naturally happened. If you know which, show me undeniable evidence of it.

There is no evidence to show a god does or doesn't exist. If a god does exist that would be great but if a god doesn't exist, does it really matter.

Asking for evidence of a god existing or not existing is pretty ignorant being evidence for neither exists.

If you believe in a god thats great.
If you don't believe in a god thats great.
Both are personal choices and evidence isn't involved.

We are each our own self and have our own beliefs which is what keeps us from being like robots.

What is gained or lost from arguing about personal beliefs besides nothing?

In my opinion I see it as believers trying to get others to believe and critisize others for not believing(you are going to hell) and non-believers trying to criticize others for believing and argue(you are uneducated and don't understand science).

Thats my opinion and I could be wrong.

The main thing gained is clarity on beliefs and practice at being succinct. I like talking to non-believers for every single time (including on this forum) it reveals to me gaps in my knowledge (and about 1/5th of the time people lovingly give me a booklist or research times to help fill me in, God bless them ), or helps me learn how to make and present a point better through trial-and-error.

No one should be saying anyone is going to Hell over anything (even if it is literally Hitler), they don't know that.

That's all my opinion also though and I could be wrong.

I will gladly again present evidence for God's existence as likely being a controller of sims, a reality based virtual reality programmer of human consciousness.

Pig brains have been kept alive for over 36 hours after the death of the pig's bodies. What if human brains could also be kept alive after the death of the bodies from where they were embodied? What if disembodied minds could be interfaced with power computers connecting disembodied minds to virtual reality worlds? Then who is to say each of us aren't one of these disembodied minds interfaced with a powerful computer by a controller simulating our realities, this being God.

I concur with Nick Bostrom's reasoning why we are very likely living in a simulated reality.

Bostrom argues that at least ONE of the following propositions must be true:

    (1) The human species is very likely to go extinct before reaching a “posthuman” stage.

    (2) Any posthuman civilization is extremely unlikely to run a significant number of simulations of their evolutionary history (or variations thereof).

    (3) We are almost certainly living in a computer simulation.

Since there is a significant chance that a future generation of technologically advanced post-humans will run ancestor-simulations by powerful computers, then we are almost certainly living in a computer simulation.

Indications we might be living in a simulated reality:

    1. A particle passing through a double-slit behaves as a wave causing an interference pattern when unobserved, but this same particle doesn't create an interference pattern when its path of travel can be determined by an observer. This collapse of the wave-function could be happening in order to save computational resources necessary for our simulated reality.

    2. This mark of intelligence left in our genetic coding might be indicative of an intelligent designer, who may be responsible for the simulation of our reality. Our genetic code's creator has left this mathematical pattern in our genetic code conveying to me the symbol of an Egyptian triangle as well as the number 37 embedded in our genetic code.
Eight of the canonical amino acids can be sufficiently defined by the composition of their codon's first and second base nucleotides. The nucleon sum of these amino acids' side chains is 333 (=37 * 3 squared), the sun of their block nucleons (basic core structure) is 592 (=37 * 4 squared), and the sum of their total nucleons is 925 (=37 * 5 squared ). With 37 factored out, this results in 3 squared + 4 squared + 5 squared, which is representative of an Egyptian triangle.
I would not expect there to be a mathematical depiction of an Egyptian triangle stored within genetic coding if it were a naturally occurring phenomenon. The mathematical pattern of the number 37 being used as a key factor for conveying an Egyptian triangle might related to the gematria value of 37 appearing in the Hebrew language of Genesis 1:1.

    3. Theoretical physicist Dr. S. James Gates Jr. claims that a certain string theory, super-symmetrical equations describing the nature and reality of our universe, contains embedded computer codes; these codes have digital data in the form of 0's and 1's identical to what makes web browsers function, and they're error-correct codes.

In conclusion, with the wave-function collapsing in order to conserve computational power of a simulator device, a semantic message in genetic coding, and the computer coding found buried deep within the mathematical equations of super symmetry., seems to me like we are living in a simulation.

Thats a good reply. I like it. You gave explanation and reasons.
In my opinion there are several here that seem to be just looking to pass time and argue by telling people they are wrong, uneducated, stupid, don't understsnd, etc.
Thats where it becomes argumentative and discussion goes out the door.

Haha. How on earth can we prove there is/isn't a god?

Atheist don't accept the theist definition of god and atheist seem to think all theist believe in the same type of god.

    Where do we start?

Kept alive is they key. We have the knowledge and technology to keep things alive that would otherwise die without our knowledge and technology. How does that prove a god?

Like I said, "There is no evidence to show a god does or doesn't exist".

Type of god? What is a type of god?

This shows the potential of there being disembodied consciousness, which then could potentially be controlled by a simulator device and simulation controller from outside a person's body.

Some beliefs are dangerous - I argue against belief because of harm done by religion. Children molested, anti-science, tax evation, homophobic, sexist, racist, paranoia - saying prayers rather than actually doing something to help, shame cultures causing kids to kill themselves, families condemning one another and splitting apart... some beliefs need to go.

So are you agreeing when it comes to a god existing or not existing its personal choice based and not evidence based?

I don't know. There's so many ideas, stories, testimonies, it makes me think asking for objective evidence is a foregone conclusion. Of course you can prove (what theists call/experience as) god exists. But why isn't that taken as evidence? Seriously... theist say their evidence is subjective but the counterparty keeps asking for objective evidence.

Personal experience is just that. Personal.

Many claim personal.experience turned them to a god. I wonder what personal experience turns people away from a god.
