Do you want both happiness and unhappiness?

People come across this question, sometimes, 'if I knew that happiness and unhappiness existed together, would I want happiness?' But first, the idea of eternity comes in. People feel, I might die tomorrow, should I be happy today? Then the question arises, if you tried desperately to be happy, but happiness and unhappiness are equally to happen, Then what? I think, people would want a way out of unhappiness and happiness. It seems, happiness is true, but not what causes it. Also, unhappiness is true, and what causes it, can be altered and removed.
