, Do you plan on getting the DJI Mavic Air 2? I plan on buying it because it will have 34 mins worth of battery life.

They are useful tools, but as with any new information-gathering technology, they will have to be restricted to protect people's privacy. If you buy one, I hope you will respect the privacy of others when using it.

I don’t use it to spy on neighbors. Fears that they are used for spying are unfounded. They’re fun to do photography with.

I've seen TV documentaries where drones were used in archeology.

Like everything else, they can be used or abused.

cheaper way to get to sort of fly, than conventional means.....even poor folk can get aloft.
like anything, people need to be respectful is all...makes life tolerable at least for everyone else

Sunbathing in our secluded courtyard (with 8 ft walls) i heard a buzzing, looked up to see a drone hovering above.

And i know i am not the only one who has been spied on.

    Unfounded??? I think not

People can take legal action for unlawful use. As long as you are 200ft above private property you are obeying the trespassing law.

The government can’t ban them because doing so will just make it so that people make their own drones, which would actually be dangerous.

The future regulations will let people track drones to see who is operating them via cell phone apps incase there are privacy concerns.

I know the laws and i know that they are used to intrude on peoples private lives

    You stated
    This is not so.

Sure they are useful in most circumstances but they can be and are, often misused

If I get one its going to have the ability to grab things and bring them back. What's the point if it can't pick things up?

If i has a gun thats what i would have done,

It's unfortunate that these creeps hide away while stalking.

aren't you kind of making a blanket statement by saying that all these are potentially threats and voyeurs?
I get that..privacy is an important issue in that regard, but not to contend with you, i think that even if we got rid of all individual drones, there would still be the 24/7 drone coverage from the big bro inc

I've never had feelings one way or the other about drones.
But if I could get one capable of carrying @sun rise's yard
grenades, & dropping them on command....I might be in love

My neighbor built a net gun from an old paintball gun, PVC pipes, pool noodles, and other misc parts.
He took out a drone with it.
    Went to court over it.
The judge flat out stated that if the drone is low enough for his CO2 powered net gun to take it out, it is well within the his right to take it out.

No. Its use cannot be controlled and it can be used by subversive elements.

There's even a new occupational field of professional drone pilot now.

So many areas of use such as topographic engineering, rescue technology, atmospheric studies, zoology the list goes on and on.

Jeez, the guy just wanted to discuss a hobby and everyone dumps negativity on him. Way to go, RF.
They're great for urban exploration, too.
