It's an ancient symbol in the form of an equal-armed cross with each arm continued at a right angle, used (in clockwise form) as the emblem of the German Nazi party.

It was an ancient symbol of cyclic time belonging to many cultures like the Ouroboros. But now it is a Nazi symbol.

The answer is "other" by which I mean "both and much more".

There's a left and right facing swastika that have different meanings and uses in different religions. I did not remember the meanings nor the rich history so looked it up for any that are interested.

The original meaning of the symbol swastika is the symbol of Buddha. One swastika symbolize the enlightenment status of a Tathāgata, the more swastikas a buddha carry means higher enlightenment is reached. only one with the third eye open can see the swastika on the Buddha

Symbols do not have "true meanings." Symbols are placeholders that represent something else. Their meaning is contextual and culturally-derived, meaning it is subjective and there is no "true meaning" to such things. The meaning is whatever your cultural context tells you it is or whatever your own life experiences tell you it is.

That's not what the Wikipedia site I noted said.

In Asia, the swastika symbol first appears in the archaeological record around[55] 3000 BCE in the Indus Valley Civilization.[68][69] It also appears in the Bronze and Iron Age cultures around the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. In all these cultures the swastika symbol does not appear to occupy any marked position or significance, but appears as just one form of a series of similar symbols of varying complexity. In the Zoroastrian religion of Persia, the swastika was a symbol of the revolving sun, infinity, or continuing creation.[70][71] It is one of the most common symbols on Mesopotamian coins.[8]

The icon has been of spiritual significance to Indian religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.[4][8] The swastika is a sacred symbol in the Bön religion, native to Tibet.
