I have already said 'No' to this question, but it has reminded me of a 'parallel' in the society in which I was brought up.
My mother taught me that policemen were people who were there to help; sure, if I was 'naughty', the policeman would scold me.
Because my thought processes need simple analogies, I can best describe the way I see God in a similar way; if I want to be good, he will show me the way; If I am 'naughty', he will scold
