Discrimination Against The Mentally Ill

My bedroom is pretty much devoid of any electronics. No TV, no computer, just a light next to my bed. I also need to keep my phone nearby because I'm on call 24/7. I also have a fan that makes white noise to block out any outside noise.

I rarely have trouble falling asleep, but I oftentimes wake up too early. My doctor suggested the possibility that it could be a case of nicotine withdrawal. After about 4 or 5 hours without a cigarette, my body seems to want one - even if I'm asleep. So I wake up.
I'm working with an insomnia specialist as well as all the other folks... A clinical psychologist.

After hearing my whole medical history, his working theory is:

Advanced Sleep Phase Syndrome

Should I tell you that has long term deleterious health effects,
or have you already heard that 30 times today?
Are u talking about getting less than 6.5 hours of sleep? If so, yes. Recovering from this sleep problem is the number 1 priority in my life. We had a Maui vacation planned. My wife and kids are going without me. It will be a very very lonely winter holiday

Sounds like heaven to me....time home alone.
Your mileage will vary.
Good luck with the sleep.

I once asked some medical people I was around, that treated some of the conditions disclosed in the OP, how many years college they had. I appreciated their honesty, they didn't have to answer me, but most answered with an alarmingly low amount of years college or training.
At this point, it's a little counter intuitive, but I think young fresh Drs might be a better fit for me, rather than old-school Drs.

By the way this is probably because they are afraid of anyone who is having psychological problems. There are many stories of the violence related with psychotic problems. Emergency room staff may have some training, but they also have lots of horror stories. The last thing they want is for a crazy person to take an interest in them. Its self preservation.

Yes, its also hate; but its hate from fear probably.
Ok. Good point. But I literally repeatedly asked them if they felt in danger. I'm aware of the concern, and I completely empathize. they answer, no. Repeatedly The word that I keep hearing is "off-putting" not "dangerous" Or "I don't like being talked to that way. { And then storms away refusing to return }

But literally, it's ridiculous. The last Dr. who said this literally was having a Temper Tantrum because I asked a simple clarifying question. If that Social Worker wasn't in the room with me, as an objective 3rd party, **I** would be doubting my own recollection. ...

It's bizarre...

America seems to be getting meaner. That's not surprising given the tone of the president, his 40+% approval rating (what more do you need to know about the character and values of the American people today?), and the values of the Republican party.

Use your camera and put it on Youtube.
I have thought about it, but it could be illegal. And what if I get caught? It would be a disaster..

But I love the moxie... Thanks for the support.

I have to ask what's going on that she can't sleep. If it's snoring, then see the question below.
It's me. If I can't sleep, she can't sleep. She's in healthcare herself. Sees oodles of patients per day... She needs her sleep.

Have you been tested for sleep apnea?
I've been to one sleep specialist who wants to look at apnea. They sent me home with a sleep study appliance/device. However, the sleep study results were invalid because 4 hours of data is needed and I can't give them that.
