Did the historical Buddha taught Yidam worship?

Did Buddha really teach Vajrayana Tantra?

Istadevata in Buddhism

These Yidams are definitely not symbolic creations of the human mind instead they actually exist independent of the mind. How well does this go with the Buddhist philosophy? If Tibetan Buddhists do not want to practise these Tantras then can they please export those secret texts back to India because we really love it and we would like to learn and practise it.

how well ? ......perfectly well !

it goes well with Tibetan and to an extent Mahayana Buddhism so I very much doubt Tibetans would be willing to relinquish these practices , what makes you think that they do not value them ?
in some respects these are hidden teachings , one has to go to a guru or master and beg him to teach you , but first one has to prove to the teacher that one is ready for the teachings or empowerments and the master will decide when he thinks the adept is ready , then he will test you in various ways , only when the master is happy that you want it with the right motivation , will he even admitt to being a holder

You are looking far to much into the Yidams, or enlightened aspects of a being. Key is reflection, and which become the reflective focus depends on the students needs and where the root lama, or guru will have them focus for purification.

Many may take the reflective aspects of a yidam, Don't think soley in samasara. Or you may think they are independent.

Buddha Shakyamuni , due to his rebirth, path, would not have any of those reflections, of aspects as the focus to re-awakening.

His internal cleaning perhaps contained "Yidams" of awakened beings, as it did contain negative aspects as Mara, within himself. When you take a look into what is called realms, then you can also see aspects of it, both negative and positive, but we wish to transcend those parts. Cut through necrosis.
