C’mon. That cannot be taken seriously and that is probably why pople keep on “sinning”.

What does the Book say? It says that Jesus anticipated His death and return at the third day. Nobody believed Him despite the events unforlfing as predicted, but that is more related to the ridicolously unplausible narrative. But I am digressing.

So, three days and two nights, only? Is that all? A mere three days death for our sins? Big deal. No surprise people might think that sinning is no bad after all, if it so cheap to cleanse it.

    Ciao

Maybe? I find it strange that you show me scriptures below, but you can't show me any for this one. So since you are making the claim, don't you think you are the one to back up the claim?
You can't...? Then I'll take it as your opinion.

What about it goes against what I said?

Since you referred to scripture, where does the scriptures say, a holy kiss is a kiss on the cheek when greeting one another? Can you show me that please?

Yeah. I don't take any of what you say here seriously. :)
Why should I , when I have no good reason to?

1 Corinthians 11:2-16. Unlike all too many of the JW's, I don't make false claims-- at least not intentionally.

First you ask me if it's there, and now you ask me how I know it was done. This is what is so upsetting when having any such "discussion" with many JW's like you, namely the "goalposts" keep getting moved again and again, usually through a process called "deflection".

How do we seemingly understand what that "holy kiss" most likely involved? It's called "tradition", in this case called "on-going tradition". IOW, it became the norm, and in many of the more Catholic countries in the Mediterranean region it still is the norm to a large extent. My wife is from Sicily, and this is what we do with her family and now our family, although it took me a while to get used to it. At church, it's more restricted because of the size of the congregation and the fact that we don't know each one personally enough to do that with all or even most. The first century congregations were very small, especially in comparison, so you pretty much knew everyone in it.

Anyhow, there's really no reason to try and continue this as you don't seem to be at all open to evidence-- all you want to do is to argue and try to prove your JW masters are right and every other denomination is full of dung. It's the clear that no amount of information will get you to even begin to question what they have conditioned you to believe. Instead, all you are going to likely do is to parrot their lies and defend even their most ridiculous assertions no matter what information is supplied you by others. Please, prove me wrong and start doing your homework instead of blindly believing them.

Thanks. You providing a scripture. :sunglasses:
    I'll ignore the derogatory comment.
From the reading of these verses, there is nothing that says, all married women are to keep their hair covered in public.

    You obviously know nothing about JWs. N o t h i n g at all.
Further, it is evident, you know very little about the Bible, and can't even explain to anyone why you say, what you do.
If you are going to claim the Bible says something, at least be prepared to show it.
You apparently cannot show me how the verses about keeping silent disagrees with what I said, so you resort to... should I say... ranting about your "favorite people" :). Do you get up in the middle of the night and throw darts too? [IMG]

Anyway, here you have shown clearly that you are only guessing at what a holy kiss is.
Do you know the youngest teenager who is a JW can explain from the scriptures what it is? Do you know why?
It is because they know more about JWs than you do, apparently.
They know that JWs are not people that walk about with an idol held aloft above their head, and all the other "fun" :grinning: stuff some religious people enjoy. JWs are Biblical scholars. They study and do research into everything related to the Bible, and acceptable worship.
So do you want to know what a holy kiss is? Just ask nicely.

I will give you three hints.
    1. 1 Peter 5:14
    2. 1 Thessalonians 5:26 Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
    3. Our official website - I think you know by now - is www.jw.org. (Remember you told me to research the answer to the question I asked you, on the Catholic sites, so I am just returning the favor :))

However, @metis, I still love you man. You make me laugh though. Honestly.
    :hugehug:
