Let's say Trump really WAS supposed to meet with the Afghan President and the Taliban and negotiate some sort of peace after decades of war.

It is doubtful that a combat ready Taliban leader would come, EVER. They may have been sending or said they were sending 'representatives'.

Not many realize that the Chinese already do lots of business there buying rare minerals. Judging by their past performance, I think it is likely that the Chinese will eventually just take over Afghanistan like they did in Tibet in 1950. Who are we kidding?

With less than half the US population, and fewer easily available resources, it is difficult for me to see Russia as a threat. China is a proven interloper. They too Tibet, and I think they will take Afghanistan. They already have some economic relationships with the other "stans". Sorry to say it, but the West is the largest aggressor here.
