Democrats Call For Flags To Be Flown At Half-Mast To Grieve Death Of Soleimani

Flags were spotted flying at half-mast around the country, notably at The Washington Post, The New York Times, and in front of several celebrities' homes. The celebrities went out and bought an American flag for the first time just to fly it at half-mast for this important time of grief.

"The grieving process is painful but necessary," said Rep. Ilhan Omar. "As a nation, we need to stop and grieve this great, austere, revered religious scholar. He was one of the good ones."

I'm willing to bet that those who routinely squeal about "fake news" also readily believe that satirical pieces like this are real.

Funny you mention that, I just got this email from Babylonian Bee:

Dear Reader,

A few days ago, a CNN reporter who covers "disinformation" took shots at us, suggesting—as Snopes and others have in the past—that we're deliberately deceiving people by spreading misinformation and calling it "satire" in the fine print just so Facebook won't penalize us. This is a ridiculous allegation. We fired back, and the media has since picked up the story.

There's some rich irony here. The very people accusing us of spreading disinformation are themselves engaged in disseminating it. They're smearing us when they know better, and they're doing it because they aren't actually interested in safeguarding the truth; they care much more about controlling the narrative and the truths you're exposed to. We pose a threat not because we're misinforming people, but because we so often aim at the wrong targets. Our satire isn't safe; it's a flashlight pointed at the places they'd rather see kept in shadow.

They can complain all they want and try to impugn our motives, but the left doesn't own satire. We're not going anywhere, and every time they try to shut us up, our voice only grows louder. Thank you for doing your part to amplify it. We can't tell you how much we appreciate your sustaining support.

I'd like flags flown at half-mast on this November 4th to honor the death of the Democratic party.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
"A teary-eyed Barack Obama was also seen solemnly lowering the flag in front of his seaside mansion. "To think, this all could have been prevented with a few pallets of cash."

ROFLMAO!!!!

Regardless, you have too many people calling real news "fake" just because they don't like what's being reported, yet will believe and spread disinformation (or obvious satire) no matter how outlandish just because they like what's being said. Trumpers in my family do this **** all the time on FB.

True. It would be more accurate to describe Anderson Cooper and all of CNN as "psuedo-news" rather than "fake news", because the topics they choose to air and those which they don't are all directed toward an agenda --that agenda being to say the things that the directors of the station want people to focus on most... and as we all know, negative coverage of Trump is a top priority for CNN directors...

But you're right. It's not actually "fake". It's "psuedo".

True, CNN is almost as bad as FOX news.
