Democrats are talking impeachment and jail for Trump

I agree.

It falls for Republicans to realize that they ought to try and impeach Trump.
Just like after Nixon the Republicans are going to lose some power for a while over this. They do not seem to realize yet that the sooner they jettison the current baggage in office the better it will be for them in the long run.

They told Mueller to wrap up the probe pretty soon so they could discuss weather to impeach or not but from they could tell of the report from Flynn and Cohen's case they have enough on Trump for impeachment and indictment from the illegal payments he made to the Porno stars.

Here is he link Top House Dems raise prospect of impeachment, jail for Trump

It is clear that Organized Crime controls him. I wonder if the Democrats are also?

Imo....Trump pretends to be a Christian in order to appease Fundamentalist Christians whose support he'd need to get re-elected...:D Whereas, Pence actually is a Fundamentalist Christian who'd escalate the failed war on drugs. He'd also try to legislate morality, that of course doesn't often work out very well. Fortunately, if Pence were to be POTUS, his time in office is limited by the time the 2020 election comes around. ...:)
That is a fairly good answer to a worthy question.

But that question is not at all the question that I asked.

I have a hunch that generally they do not believe that there is an upside for accepting any losses and attempting to course-correct.

For whatever reason, they have lost the ability to think of course correction as a good thing unless it promises them immediate "victory".

I wish Democrats would focus more on positive programs for America's future, and much less on impeaching Trump.
^^^^^^ This. ^^^^^^

People are working 2 to 3 jobs and still living paycheck to paycheck, people are going bankrupt when they get sick, people are dying because they can't afford their medications, we have a climate change crisis on our hands, people are drowning in student loan debt, mass incarceration is destroying families...

So much to focus on, and House Democrats want to put in all this time and energy into impeaching the orange clown only for the Senate to acquit him.

If all Trump did was pay hush money to silence his mistresses, and had gotten a bit of help from some few Russian business associates to defeat Hillary; then he should neither be impeached nor jailed. Why all the big fuss concerning this much ado about nothing?

You're such a spoilsport, man.

Well, in the words of Matt Taibbi,

Sanders has spent the last two years forcing companies like Amazon and Disney to raise their minimum wage, he’s led the push for Medicare for All, and he’s in the middle of a fight to end American involvement in the Yemen war. These all seem like issues worth discussing in 2020.

Exactly. There is much to do to repair the damage without focusing of impeachment. Lets get on with health care and the rest. If things don't improve for Trump it is quite possible he won't run again, he doesn't need this. I think the one truth he ever spoke is the other day when he said he kept his business ties during the campaign because he did not except to win and would just make a better well known name for himself.

Whatever you want me to be.
This is not really about what issues we think the Dems. should be focused on; if Trump committed the crimes then the laws must be upheld. I am much more interested in seeing if justice will be preserved or if we'll sweep this under the rug because of political ideologies.

It's tricker than prosecuting & even convicting just because there have
been crimes. Crimes are regularly given a pass for political reasons.
So the course will be determined by the crimes & the political will to
address them. Pubs will be reluctant to impeach. Dems will want to,
but will fear backlash from failure (remembering the Clinton fiasco).
IOW....we won't know what will happen until after it does.

President Pence...now are the Democrats sure they'd want Trump removed from office? ...

There are a lot of people with TIDS (Trump-Induced Derangement Syndrome).

Now, personally, I wish he would go away, but, I think
the "cure" would prove far worse than just letting him be.

Kinda like all the crinton crimes that are still being swept.

Or nixoncrimes,

Or

Yes, for sure we'd love to see equal justice, nobody
above or below the law

The dont-haves are savagely abused by the legal
system, and those with influence...another story.

The bigger the crime, the less chance of punishment.

Remember ye well the Banking crisis and all the
guys in 20,000 dollar suits doing the perp walk

You could count them on the fingers of "Surly
Joe's" brother's hand.

There was an unforgettable photo of Bill Clinton with
a bible, outside some church. A bible chosen, we'd
guess, for the highly visible cross on the cover, so
wont nobody think he brought a dictionary.

Crintons and Trump is about as godly as a toad frog,
but, that is ok. It is what Americans demand, and
probably better than if they were really Christians.

Still, the fakery is not such a good thing.

Yes, that acronym is better than the initialism, TDS.

There's no sense in the House voting to impeach unless the Senate will vote to convict.
In the sense of attaining the actual impeachment at the current time, perhaps not.

But as a portent of the tide turning, I think that it may be very significant.

I am sorry, but I don't see your point.
