I think Bernie would, as much as I really like him. The reason is because the Pubs would throw out the charge "socialist!", and all too many low-information voters will think "communist!".

Bernie has too large of a movement for that. He raised close to $6 million in donations in his first 24 hours of announcing. Trump couldn't take him on issue for issue, because he lose. His ONLY attack on Bernie will be to yell socialist, communist, and Venezuela. Bernie will have a harder time fighting the Democrat establishment than he would against Trump.
