Good question as confusion comes in due to different uses and meanings of these types of terms. I was using the term spirit in the way I thought the OP was intending, things like ghosts, angels, etc..

I am saying Consciousness/God/Brahman is not physical and a spark of this consciousness animates all living entities. I am also saying there are bodies made of physical matter and there are also bodies made of the matter of higher planes/dimensions (angels, astral bodies of physically deceased humans, ghosts, etc.). These non-physical bodies was what I thought the OP was referring to (and I could be wrong).

I think you understood the OP's question as he intended you to. Yes, we all do use these terms differently, and sometimes that does create confusion. I asked the question I did because I actually do believe that the spirit (as you understood the term) is matter. It's just such a highly refined matter that it's invisible to the naked eye. And even that statement needs clarification. How can a person claim to have "seen" a spirit if a spirit cannot be seen? I believe that ordinarily, a spirit cannot be seen, but that under certain conditions this may not be the case.

That is well put and I agree.

    And
I can think of two ways a spirit can be 'seen'.

    1) Spirits through intent to interact with the material world can temporarily materialize and semi-materialize by drawing energy from the environment.

    2) People can 'see' spirits using the psychic senses we all have through our interpenetrating astral/mental bodies that can perceive things on those higher planes/dimensions where these spirits exist. Certain people are more 'gifted psychically' and experience these things occasionally while still centered in their physical body.

Spirit: The energy of a person.

    (
    Soul: personality of a person
Body: Physical exterer of a person.
    )

Thr spirit lives and can be experienced after death. Energy doesnt "die."

Our souls die with our bodies. We remember people by how they affect us and these sensations in its raw terms is energy.

I'm not sure what you are looking for as far as spirits, BUT
I believe that there are evil spirits throughout this planet earth. I believe that it is evil spirits that lead people through music, movies, TV, social media, you name it. There are evil spirits to gather people to the armies of satan. He is the prince of this land and he has many evil spirits helping him deceive people. There are also Angels that help and assist the children of God and protect us from those evil spirits.

Just don't use it to make money, and we're good.

Googling it....Ah. Well that will preclude you making money off people. No probs.

I guess I can chime in on an answer. I view spirit as energy. When you have friction and youbrub your hand near someone else, you may see a spark. Its not tangible and its there. Other times we see spirit or energy in form of lightening. We have a longer time to discipher it as a lightening bolt.

Then you have our energy or auras. A lot of religions say its so strong you can Actually not metaphorically nor supernaturally sense another person. A lot of times it comes when we are grieving, or have high states of emotion where we are literally more open and aware to whats around us subconsciously.

When I and many people seen spirits or experience them normally its because something has happened (say someone passed on) or is happening (getting baptised) among other things.

We can see energy and experiencen it. Whether we attribute it to a person, god, tree, or mind is up tonthat persons belief and way of looking at the world. At the end, the world doesnt depend on us.

So, spirit exists without our existence. To see it, you have to be more intuned with people and your environment. And be open.

I don't have a clue. It seems to me that people use the term to describe:

    - a metaphor
    - something I don't think exists, or
    - something too conveniently vague to evaluate as true or false.

Spirit applies to all of the following the spirit of God, the spirit of man, a angel (fallen or holy)

I don't think departed human people walk around and appear to people, but perhaps demons present themselves that way to keep people form the gospel with a distracting experience.

Whether they share the same spirit I don't know, but they certainly share the same behaviors

It was said earlier that the spirit is the energy or life force of a person. That is why the "Holy Spirit" is not a separate "person in the trinity. The "Holy Spirit" is the energy or life force of God and since God is holy then His spirit is holy.

So a person's "spirit" has an impact on their behaviour?

How'd you arrive at that conclusion? If one spirit could exist at conception, why couldn't two?

Do you see "soul" and "spirit" as synonyms?
